Team VeryGames Team VeryGames have dominated every event they have attended in 2011 with only one exception, having won a record amount of prize money for a CS:S team outside of the CGS era and claimed a gold medal in CS:S's first inclusion at ESWC. |
![]() |
CKRAS These Danes are comprised of both young talents and old veterans and have made steady progress to the point where they have only been thwarted by the mighty French at events and have dominated their domestic scene. |
![]() |
mTw Despite the latter half of the year yielding some disappointing results it's easy to forget that for a long period of time mTw were really pushing for the top spot. Breaking the mould for German teams in actually going all out to attend European LAN events, their bold decision to pick up foreign players has now set the template for German EPS. |
![]() |
apeX Esports After a hiatus in the latter stages of the year, the Finnish team have always been strong, having achieved podium finishes in all but one of their events and having started the year strong with a win out at Sweden for the inaugural 30P LAN event. |
![]() |
Epsilon Although now defunct the team put together an assembly of CS:S stars that threatened big things before the players all went their separate ways. |
![]() |
mousesports Another German organisation that wasn't afraid to look outside of its country to assemble a talented roster, mousesports ended the year by claiming their first EPS title in CS:S, as well as some notable appearances at other events dotted across the year. |
![]() |
Team Dynamic The Canadians dominated their domestic scene in a way few teams have and even though they tailed off at the end of 2011, their achievements speak for themselves. |
![]() |
3DMax The American squad came together and has played under a variety of names, each with the same result. They ended the domination of Team Dynamic domestically and achieved a podium finish at ESWC, putting North American CS:S back on the map, if it had ever been off it. |

![]() |
Nathan has gone from being the young upstart to being a star player in his own right. A series of fine performances with AWP, rifle and pistol have shown his calibre and a string of MVP nominations down the year prove his worth to his team. |
![]() |
The captain of the most successful team in CS:S history, it's easy to forget the contribution he makes through his play as well as his calls. Often doing the water carrying and unspectacular work Kevin is as much a reason for VeryGames continued domination as anyone. |
![]() |
An unorthodox but brilliant rifle Bo has been instrumental in the rise of CKRAS and has continued to show his talent on the big stage against the best teams with some consummate rifling. |
![]() |
For many he is the best all rounder that the modern game has produced. Having been part of the only team to beat VeryGames he has been propelled to near-mythical status, not to mention his performances in helping VeryGames secure so many victories. Odd that he will start 2012 without a team. |
![]() |
Lasse is without doubt the best player his country has produced and throughout 2011, even though he played in teams that underperformed, he had been the stand out player each time. His aim remains as good as anyone's in the game to this day. |
![]() |
Becoming the first UK player to represent mTw and helping start a trend in German EPS is a talking point that often overshadows his ability as a rifle. Having been a stand out player for mTw at many events, this year has seen his game broaden, taking on captain and tactical duties, as well as adding AWPing to back up his world class rifling skills. |
![]() |
The Finnish AWPer has put in a series of huge performances across the year and has shown why he is all too often overlooked as one of the best players in Europe at the moment. No flash in the pan, his sustained form has been instrumental in his team's success in 2011. |
![]() |
EPS MVP and a star player wherever he's been, Tugay was part of the mousesports team that achieved big things domestically while at the same time showing a versatility in his play that made him highly sought after by many organisations. |
![]() |

Nathan has gone from being the young upstart to being a star player in his own right. A series of fine performances with AWP, rifle and pistol have shown his calibre and a string of MVP nominations down the year prove his worth to his team. |
![]() |
The veteran player was all too easily dismissed as the weak link in the VeryGames roster but this year has shown that to be complete nonsense after a run of excellent performances. Consistent and brilliant Edouard rolled back the years to show what made him one of the most successful players of all time. |
![]() |
Despite limited time the UK's finest AWPer has managed again to place on podiums and play his way into a salaried team in the form of mousesports. This year he showed that on his day he can still keep up with anyone in the game. |
![]() |
Showed what class he possesses on the big stage with notable performances at both i-series and ESWC. Mario has been at the top of his domestic scene for some time but this year he finally embedded into people's minds what he was capable of on the biggest stage. |
![]() |
It defies logic that this veteran player would not only still be around but would also still be at the top of the scene. After a fe quiet years though he re-emerged in 2011 and helped his team establish themselves over the course of the year. Dominated players with his AWPing at 30P and although he would never admit it himself had one of his best years since he started. |
![]() |
Showed that North America always seem to produce the best AWPing talents by dominating ESEA and beyond with huge performances for Team Dynamic. Statistically the strongest AWPer in the eighth season of ESEA he is without doubt a phenom. |
![]() |
The Finnish AWPer has put in a series of huge performances across the year and has shown why he is all too often overlooked as one of the best players in Europe at the moment. No flash in the pan, his sustained form has been instrumental in his team's success in 2011. |
![]() |
Flashy, flamboyant and consistently brilliant, adreN has always been a stand out player in whatever team he has been in and he was a cornerstone of Team Dyanmic's domestic success. When they came to challenge the Europeans on home soil he stood up and was counted as one of the best players at ESWC. |

Although a relatively new player when it comes to the top end of the scene, Rene has shown that he more than deserves to be there with his excellent aim and huge performances in big games when his team needs it. Has earned MVP nominations in a breakout year for him. |
![]() |
All too often forgotten by people when compiling a list of the top riflers, nashje has proven time and time again he can beat the best with his big fragging and crisp aim. A huge player for his team in 2011. |
![]() |
The young player from the UK managed to establish himself in one of the biggest organisations in Europe and went from being the prospect to the star player in a short space of time with some notable performances. |
![]() |
The poster boy for breaking through with hard work, the player is now a veteran in his own right and has played in many of the top UK teams in 2011 having earned the plaudits in each one. |
![]() |
A player that went from being in the top North American team to creating the team that would dethrone them, his ability and will to win have singled him out as one of the best players on show in 2011. |
![]() |
Depending on what side of the Atlantic you are on Todd is either a great rifler or the best rifler in the world. Either way his talent can't be disputed and he showed that with some great displays both in ESEA and at ESWC. |
![]() |
Has shown that he is undoubtedly the most consistent rifler in his country this year and has helped ensure that FM Sapphire have been capable of competing with the very best teams when they have faced them. |
![]() |
![]() |
An event that has been nothing but a welcome addition to the calendar, the venue is right in the heart of Copenhagen and has been run to perfection every time it has been held. |
![]() |
The inaugural and hopefully not last event by the 30P organisation saw an event that was one of the most competitive of the year while making excellent provisions for the players and the press. |
![]() |
Multiplay's UK event attracted teams from all across Europe as the tournament slowly started to reinvent itself as one of the biggest on the calendar. |

Held in a state of the art venue and populated by one of the strongest scenes in Europe, the MaxLAN event was still a great one despite only being comprised of local talent. |
![]() |
Drama, controversy and some great games, this ESEA event was one of the best yet for CS:S and even managed an unexpected outcome. |
![]() |
The biggest event to pick up CS:S for some time and the spectacle showed that the game was worthy of its spot on the ticket as the best teams from across the globe clashed. |

SK Gaming Went from being an under-performing team of stars to champions across a raft of events in 2011, they picked up several big wins, most notably finally bringing home gold at ESWC. Had a great year and, as he had been with fnatic, was instrumental in SK Gaming's success. Made some notable clutches at several events and capped off the year with gold at ESWC. |
![]() |
Arguably the most talented 1.6 player to have graced the game, he simply showed no weakness as he propelled SK Gaming to great things throughout 2011. |
![]() |
Often unflashy and unspectacular, it has to be said that Ioann had a great year as a consistent performer for his team that many felt would drift into obscurity in 2011. Although first places were rarer for the Ukrainian giants, he played his part in some notable podium finishes and was outstanding at DreamHack Summer. |
![]() |
Although the year petered out somewhat for the Danes there was no denying the incredible talent and versatility of trace, who was at the heart of everything good the team did. |
![]() |

NesTea, also know as God of Zerg, is a three time GSL champion who plays for team Incredible Miracle. In 2011 he continued his dominance in Korea with several GSL wins, internationally however he had a weaker showing at blizzcon and MLG Providence . |
![]() |
MVP is arguably the best sc2 player out there. This Terran who plays for team Incredible Miracle is known for his deadly timing attacks which helped him conquer almost everything there is to conquer in StarCraft 2. He won 3 GSL championships, blizzcon, WCG and an MLG title all in the strech of one year. |
![]() |
MMA is one of Korea's strongest Terrans, and arguably team SlayerS finest asset. In 2011 he showed his excellence by winning a GSL Championship aswell as the Blizzard cup and an MLG. He was voted as most valuable player in several team leagues and is steadily proved himself to be one of the big underdogs out there. |
![]() |
NaNiwa, the personality Protoss from Sweden proved this year that he was still arguably the best player in Europe. Although he had his fair share of ups and downs including several team changes, being revoked from GSL's code S after the probe rush incident but also a win in the MLG Global invitational over players like NesTea, MVP and IdrA. |
![]() |
Leenock might very well be the breakout player of 2011. This extremely talented young zerg player, aged only 16, proved to be one of the best out there when he triumphantly took first place at MLG Providence. In his glorious run which went all the way through he open bracket and eventually the upper and lower championship bracket he managed to beat MMA, IdrA, HuK, MVP, DRG and finally NaNiwa to take first place. After this breakthrough he continued to play well, taking second in the GSL Code S season. |
![]() |
Had a truly great year showing he could beat anybody with his victories at IPL 3 and ESWC on home soil. |
![]() |
Nerchio proved to be one of Europe's finest. This Polish Zerg player was initially branded an onliner after some dissapointing finishes at offline events but has since emerged as a real competitor to the Korean Powerhouses. He won the Battle in Berlin, an event which had Europe's best players on display, as well as finishing in top 3 positions on IPL season 2, TwitchTV's european invitational and the Samsung European championship 2011. |
![]() |
He had some good showings placing fourth at two seperate MLG events, winning an IEM as well as IPL season 1 and the ASUS ROG invite. Lately he has somewhat settled down, he qualified for GSL Code S and has been less temperamentful at times. If he continues this trend 2012 might see him starting to compete with the rest of the world rather than being sub-top as he has been |
![]() |
DongRaeGu is a Korean Zerg who plays for team MvP. He has quickly become a fan favorite of sorts following his succesful showings inside and outside of Korea, being able to take down the best in the world on a consistent basis. He won both an IEM and the DreamHack valencia invitational as well as the Arena of Legends second installment. He also had very impressive showings at MLG, coming third at MLG Providence and Raleigh and second at the GSL Blizzard cup and Arena of Legends 1. |
![]() |
Jjakji is another Korean surprise this year. The strong Terran player who plays with team NSHoSeo and was quite unknown up untill the second half of the year. The first time he managed to qualify for GSL Code A was in August and he immediately managed to take a code S spot. Although his first season of Code S wasn't very impressive he managed to qualify for the next season. It was unanticipated that he would win this tournament over the best Korea had to offer, beating Leenock in the finals. |
![]() |
A great year for the Korean saw him achieve podium finishes in the HomeStory Cup III, MLG Columbus NASL Season , MLG Orlando as well as achieving easy wins at Copenhagen Games and the DreamHack Stockholm Invitational. |
