Following a lengthy period of speculation about the future of the EG 1.6 team it has now been confirmed that not only will the organisation be dropping 1.6 sponsorship but the team will also be disbanding.

The writing seemed on the wall when Andrew "Irukandji" Timmerman's candid statements about the sponsorship not being renewed in 2012 were lovingly ratted and distributed across the internet.

Following the announcement Timmerman has now confirmed his retirement from the game. The team had already lost Paul "pauLy" Guerboyan to rival team UMX.us. These roster issues have meant that the team have had to forfeit the rest of the ESEA season meaning the team will not be ending on a high.

Funnily enough there is no official confirmation from the organisation as of yet but the players have revealed the news themselves on the ESEA forums so it looks like confirmation will be coming later in the day.
