Clan of the Week : xpre
@ General coverage channel

The #1 team in Denmark, led by Lars "h0lm" Jespersen, xpre are a team that needs no introduction. This week I caught up with h0lm himself to see how he feels about it all.

Introduce yourself and give us a little information about the rest of your team.
No need for a bigger introduction, I’m sure you all know who I am. (:D) My name is still Lars Holm Jespersen, I’m 18 years old, I’m playing for xpre and the Danish national team, and I’m currently studying third and last year at my gymnasium.

My beloved team has been through a rather rough time these last couple of months, suffering with player losts, and thankfully a few add-ons as well.

First we lost rex and recently kev1n too. Rex left due to an injury in his wrist derived from an excessive amount of prac, and it might be a while before we will see him again, if we will at all.

As of now our team consists of FeTiSh, White_, speeder, me and our 5th man mlky.

I’ve played with FeTiSh since forever, and our games have improved in different directions, but FeTiSh has really become an amazing tac leader.

I’ve known White_ since I started source, and once you start loving the kid it’s hard to let the poor fellow go. At times he even manages to impress me, nevertheless he is our most important piece when considering the mood ingame. Every time someone feels a bit down, he knows he can cheer himself up by making fun of White_. Really, when the four of us get together making fun of White_ we can’t lose any match at all, it’s just that much fun :D

speeder is one of our later additions, and has really fitted well into the team. His sense of humour is identical to the rest of the teams’, and his playstyle too. speeder has quickly become one of our best players.

mlky is of now merely our 5th, as a sort of a standin, but who knows what it can lead to :)? Just recently, he switched from the 1.6 scene, but it truly shows that his lack of source-experience isn’t spoiling his game at all.

kev1n recently left your team, xpre, what repercussions has that had on the team? Has it affected you more on a personal level or a gameplay level?
Gameplay wise it has been a huge step backwards, unfortunately. Finally all of our tacs were pinned down, and we had to fit not only one, but two new players into the team.

On the personal level it hasn’t had such a huge impact, since kev1n was rather new to the team, but still kev1n was a great player to have on the team.

You're currently competing in the Nations cup for team Denmark, is that affecting the team's practice schedules at all?
Indeed it is. We have had major issues trying to make both things work out fine, but we have had to get a new 5th standin, zedt, to help us out in a recent match in the SGL. This also means I haven’t been practising with the team near as much as I should be, so in yesterdays match versus EDiT I had some difficulties remembering the tacs from the short briefing and the minor pracs I had participated in.

It is a matter of prioritizing ofc, and to me it was more important to beat Holland in the Nations Cup.

What LANs and leagues are you competing in in the next year, and what aims do you have for the team?
We haven’t agreed on any events yet, except I’m pretty sure we will be attending SLKS. If not, you will at least see me with a mix team of some sort :)

The reason we haven’t planned attending any events, is that we still have no organization, or any major sponsors willing to send us anywhere, so this really limits the events we can attend.

What do you consider the key to your success as a team?
The key reason for any success we might have had so far is really due to a lot of practise, though it has been a huge setback loosing two good players who were implanted fully into the team as mentioned above, almost setting us back to square one, making us start all over again.

Who would you rate as the top 3 teams (in order) in European CSS at this moment in time? Try and explain why as well.

Tough one, though due to the last couple of results I would say

1. n!faculty

2. temp.css

3. InsigniaCadre

Surely people would have other opinions but I feel there has recently been a change of the best teams. Adastra fading away loosing players and so.

n!faculty impressed me a lot at SLKS, just as temp.css did, but the results speak for themselves.

Cadre… well yeah, they did win whatever British failure LAN that was, but really I don’t think it can be compared to winning SLKS :)

And the top 5 in the world (again, in order)?
It would be impossible for me to make a top5 of all teams in the world, as I have no clue which American teams are good. People I cant play versus doesn’t interest me at all.. :p

What other games do you play apart from CS:S?
Nothing really.. :D A true dedicated sourcegamer, huh? Well, sometimes FeTiSh forces me to play 1.6 mix with him, though it eventually gets real boring after a couple of matches.

If you had to pick one song to describe you, what would it be, and why?
The Presidents Of The United States Of America - We Are Not Going to Make It

I’m always being sarcastic and ironic while having a huge faith in myself. Perhaps the title should be interpreted as the opposite, and by that saying I know I’m going to make it ;)?

And finally, we have to ask it for our insanely huge female fanbase, how does one get into h0lm's pants? Any chat up lines that would make you instantly go "wow, I'm gonna be in you"?
Ah, the pretty ladies never seem to give up stalking my precious body. Honestly, the only thing a girl would have to do is get on here knees and beg for a headshot. And of course, she would have to be extremely hot and sexy ;)

And now I'm obliged to give you this opportunity to thank everyone from your sponsors to god to your neighbour's dog. Thanks for the interview, and you can finish it off as you may!

Let me keep this short. Thank you comways.dk, and thank you my true fans out there wanting to sell me a black Alienware 3.0 (pretty pleeeease :D?)
