Alpcon 2012 Announced
@ General coverage channel

After a year long break the organisers behind the Aplcon tournament in Austria have announced the dates of their 2012 edition.

The last event was in 2010 and was contested by a number of European teams, each eager to take a snatch at the €2050 first place prize, a prize which was eventually won by the legendary Reason Gaming team led by Marek '.PhP' Kadek. It wasn't an easy tournament for the team though and they were made to work for their cash by the likes of CKRAS and a strong Alternate Attax team which eventually finished second, a place farm removed from the squad currently representing the organisation. For many it was the most successful event to date and with plenty of attention it came as a huge surprise when a 2011 edition wasn't announced.

It's been almost two years since their last event and the latest announcement will come as a pleasant surprise to those who thought it was dead in the water. Details are currently sketchy but a splash page has been set-up, revealing the dates of their 2012 event and the games set to feature. CS:S will be making its return alongside BF3, SC2 and MW3 and the event will be taking place from the 25th-27th of May this year. Reports from players who attended the 2010 edition have been glowing so it's worth keeping an eye out for any further announcements, as always we will strive to keep you updated.
