Sleep Joins CheckSix
@ Scene news channel

American organisation CheckSix have picked up the ex-SlayerS player Sleep.

Following the trend of mid-low level Korean pro’s moving to international gaming organisations, Sleep announced way back at the end of October that he would be leaving SlayerS in search of greener grass in a non-Korean team. The 19 year old Zerg is no stranger to the international scene having participated in the IPL3 LAN event last year where he placed in the top16. Further, he’s made a habit of participating in the frequent NA Zotac Cups and has come away victorious on more than one occasion.

Having narrowly missed out on a Code A spot this season, losing out in the final match, Sleep announced that, as well as signing for CheckSix, he will be moving into their Southern California team house. As well as making a healthy addition to the CheckSix team in terms of practice potential, Sleep will also be representing the side at events across the US such as MLG and IPL. This coupled with the still recent pick up of Major by the team sees them blossoming into a side with the potential to do very well in their domestic scene.

In an interview with ESFI World Sleep said:

I've spent quite a long time teamless, talking to different teams and contemplating a lot. I wanted to join a team that would need me, and CheckSix's manager also spent quite a long time helping me out a lot. In the end, I believe the help I received was the greatest reason why I chose to be recruited into CheckSix.

Curt “KeyHunt” Carter, with x6 management also reported to ESFI that:

One of the main reasons behind this was because we want to invest long-term into all of our players. We did not pick up Sleep to just be a player. He will also be involved heavily in playing with all our other players that will attend events regularly. We plan on bringing back old-school Counter-Strike terminology and doing bootcamps at Fujikura's house with Sleep before every major event for our players to get in as much practice time as possible with Sleep so everyone is prepared for the gauntlet known as the open bracket.
