HKLAN: CKRAS Wolfed Down
@ HKLAN channel

There were insane and joyous scenes round the press office as I scrambled to get more coverage up on the site. Copenhagen Wolves players and management were whooping and high fiving... "Motherfucking final baby" one shrieked.

My keen journalist senses told me that something had happened, something perhaps worth mentioning to the rest of the Cadred readership. Indeed, the Wolves had managed to redeem themselves by getting above their seed and they did so at the expense of the team that was, before this competition at least, readily thought of as the second best in the world.

That may well change because people are fickle, but CKRAS may not feel that they are the same themselves. Having lost to Epsilon twice over the weekend and now Copenhagen Wolves there are questions to be asked.

I can't tell you how they did it. I missed the game as I wrapped up other things. In truth, as much as I championed Wolves, I expected a hat trick of CKRAS Vs Epsilon match ups. How refreshing then that the odds were upset and we have a genuine underdog in the final. Of course, I'm impartial...

Where there is joy, there is often sadness, the flip side of the life coin. As the adrenaline coursed through the veins of those in black and gold, those in the appropriate black and blue looked thoroughly beaten. It was a depressing site to see a team that were once majestic and only having VeryGames to worry about look so low. That silence that sucks the sound out of the lungs of everyone sat around them. No words of consolation can be uttered, even if you knew what to say.

And, just to clear it up, it is evidence - if any were needed - that some players bring more to a team than simply what they do on the scoreboard. h0lm was hardly a killing machine but he was a motivator and a cool head. RylaNder is not to blame for this. He played as well as he can and as anyone could expect. Sometimes teams are more than the sum of their parts.

That might be like Copenhagen Wolves. Since adding Nico they have looked formidable, a blend of exuberance and "never say die" attitude. Epsilon will not be taking them lightly in the final and the Wolves have that first big win in their sites. If this is how they celebrate making it to a final, for a win they might just bring the house down.
