mK In Theft Shocker
@ Scene news channel

There's no real way to report on this. It seems even more crazy than anything that has already happened during the LAN event yet it is true and really disappointing. Michael "mK" Zaidi from VeryGames has been caught stealing from another player at the event.

The FM Sapphire player Rui "emotioN" Sousa approximately two hours ago had his laptop stolen and was naturally despondent. The tournament organisers had said that cameras had been moved to focus on other parts of the venue and it seemed that the culprit would never be found.

However back at their hotel the VeryGames players discovered that the player Michael "mK" Zaidi was trying to hide a laptop and acting suspiciously. Once it was brought to the attention of their manager Jérôme "NIAK" Sudries, he insisted the player returned the item and apologise.

Fragmasters were naturally in disbelief and offered to remain quiet about the matter, however the VeryGames organisation insisted on not hiding and they told the Copenhagen Games staff. They are currently preparing a statement and the immediate facts are this. Michael's flights and hotel have been immediately cancelled, he has been removed from the organisation and also permanently banned from all events run by this team.

A statement from Copenhagen Games said:

We are really saddened that the actions of one individual would potentially eclipse a great tournament. We hope that isn't the case. We want to say that the player in question has been permanently banned from all events we run. This will always be the case when it comes to thieves or anti-social behaviour, regardless of skill level.

As soon as we have the press release from VeryGames we will update you further.
