A long time coming from the self-proclaimed "Obamatoss" Protoss player that has been on a drought as of late. After falling to Stephano in numerous tournaments before this one, his revenge was sweet as he defeated the French Zerg 3-2 in the semifinals.
As stated, this is really been a long time coming from, who was at one time and arguably still is, the best Protoss player in the world. After making a name for himself in 2011 after taking DreamHack in Stockholm along with 2 GSL titles, the man in the Murloc suit at every MLG event for the past several months has returned in fashion, taking home a nice $15,000 check from the Red Bull Battlegrounds LAN. Jang Min Chul (called MC because of his first name, Min Chul) was the first individual in Starcraft 2 to break the $200,000 earned in tournament prize money cap. Trailing MVP now by a mere $12,000 (MVP's earned $309,000) it appears as though MC has a good shot at overtaking him in the near future at the next large tournament that he attends. MC said that he was very pleased with this victory and will be preparing for the next tournament to continue his winning streak. The games between Bomber and MC in the finals were very close and could have gone either way, but MC came out on top with a nice 4-2 finish due to micro and engagement arcs allowing him to win in the Bo7 grand finals. Placings are below, any updates to follow if they occur.
