GameShadow Battles: Playoffs Update
@ General coverage channel

GameShadow Battles has well and truly kicked off, and has progressed as well as could be expected. The administration team have had to provide an update on progression from the group stage to the knockout stage.

With such a large prizepot on offer, it's no wonder that the tournament filled up its slots so easily. GameShadow Battles has launched itself into the elite of tournaments as it stands, obviously pending completion of the event itself and payment.

The admin team have discovered that there are some ties in the group stages that cannot be resolved through head to head results. In the interest of fairness, they have taken the decision to schedule tie-breaker games in any scenario where the teams' cannot be split in the groups.

Furthermore, they have introduced a transfer period where you can introduce two new players who have not been involved with another team in the tournament. This move will hopefully open up teams to bring in any substitutes for any unforeseen roster changes or problems.

The announcement is as follows:

Groups to Playoffs Update

As the group stages start to wind up to a close, preparations have begun to move into the elimination phase, but before we do so there are a few loose ends to tidy up.

Points Ties

There are a number of groups for both CSS and COD4 where the 2nd place is tied and cannot be resolved by the head-to-head results. These matches will go a tie breaker, as detailed in the rules, during week commencing 11th June on the normal match days for those games. These matches will be scheduled in over the coming weekend, so if you are in that position, make sure you are ready to play your tie breaker.

Transfer Window

There will be a one week transfer window between the groups and double elim stages to allow teams to make minor lineup changes. This transfer window runs from 9am Monday 11th to 9pm Sunday 17th June and again rosters will be locked after that point until the end of the tournament. To make a transfer:

You can only introduce players who have not played for any other team during the tournament.
You can only make 2 changes to ensure that core team lineups progressing into the elim are the same as those in the groups
Requests must be made by raising a ticket on the site
Players to be added must have an account on the GameShadow Battles Website and have their SteamID (CSS) or GUID (COD4) entered as well as the appropriate Anti-Cheat ID.

Congratulations to all the teams progressing in to the elimination stages. The elimination stage matches will commence on Monday 18th June.
