MLG Anaheim: Final Standings
@ MLG Spring Championship channel

After a great weekend of Starcraft 2 the MLG Spring Championships are over with DongRaeGu taking the title.

Coming into the event DongRaeGu was one of the big favourites to place well and it probably won’t come as a shock to anyone to see him taking home the gold in Anaheim tonight. He’s been formidable all weekend long only dropping four maps in total and a good case can be made to say he’s the most skilled player in the world right now.

Other notable performances were Alicia’s second place and Sase’s incredible run from the Open Bracket to reach fourth. Most people discounted Alicia before the tournament kicked off but over the course of the weekend he showed that he does have what it takes to come and play with the big boys, despite being unable to qualify for Code A. Finally the German player Socke deserves a mention. The only player to defeat DongRaeGu this weekend, Socke missed out on topping his Pool by the narrowest of margins, losing the crucial final map to his opponent Sase. Had he won that map he’d have guaranteed himself at least a top 6 finish and his great play this weekend deserves not to be forgotten.
