MLG was a blast but the recovery process for those who followed it is already over with the GESL around the corner. The GIGABYTE Esports LAN will contain both League Of Legends Starcraft 2.

This event will be the first of it's kind and it's sure to see one hell of a start. The event will take place this weekend in southern California at the California State Polytechnic University of Pomona. We don't see a lot of College LAN events these days and it's good to see one spring up with potential to grow. For it's first ever Lan invitational it already secured a big prize pool of $ 21.000 over both games.

The teams that'll be attending are the best North - America has to offer, the only 2 teams who couldn't make it are TSM.Evo and Dignitas however this will be the fist time we'll CLG's infamous "B" team in action. In total there will be 8 teams attending the LAN. They've also secured a live picking and banning room for LoL aswell as a media room for post- and pre- interviews.

What you'll know by now is no event can be a success without a stream or casters to go with it. To give everyone a great experience, they've made sure to have a live HD Broadcast on Twitch.tv, you can tune in by clicking Here. The casters will be Torch who you might know from the OGN Spring tournament of Korea, he'll be casting alongside Wombat who made an appearance in the TSM NA Invitationals.

The tournament will kick off with 2 groups of 4 teams who'll play 1 map to determine the seedings for the bracket which will be single elimination. Everyone will only play 1 map to decide a winner. However the final and 3rd place match will be played in a best-of-3 fashion to determine the top4.

The schedule isn't really clear on when everything is going to kick off since it's mostly starcraft 2 based. I'll keep you updated through the match ticker and a post of the groups for when the LoL side of things is going to begin. All i can say now is that you should stay tuned for this event and Dreamhack which will also be happening this weekend, more info on that later.
