The team was formerly known as Absolute Legends only 2 weeks ago. They made name and fame in the European scene by defeating some tough opposition. After MLG Anaheim the whole team decided to remove their toplaner.
Joey "YoungBuck" Steltenpool came in the team for Aurimas 'Angush' Gedvilas, the latter had expressed his anger towards his teammates after finishing 2nd at Assembly which wasn't taken lightly by his team. The Dutchmen and Absolute Legends at the time were a definite top3 team, managing to overcome CLG.eu on quite a few occasions which is very impressive seeing that CLG.eu wins about every online cup. A few weeks back the team jumped ship to Curse. Xinec said in an interview that some stuff weren't as they wanted in AL, then curse came along with an offer the team couldn't refuse, including an opportunity to live in a gaming house.
MLG is most likely the reason why they decided to not continue with Youngbuck, all though they got a
9th/12th placing there which is kind of good seeing the opposition, it's not what they had in mind. Something didn't click between the team and their toplaner which resulted in him being replaced by their former teammate Aurimas "Angush" Gedvilas who played with teamless in between. Angush apologized to his team and realizes he needs to change his behaviour towards them.
Joey "YoungBuck" Steltenpool said this on Reddit:
Today I was very surprised when I got to hear that the Curse.Eu team decided that they do not want to play with me any longer. I still don't know the real reasons for my departure but ok, life goes on. I already have a few offers from other teams but for now I'm keeping my options open and I'm thinking about my future. I'm very overwhelmed by the support I receive from all of you guys and it means a lot to me, thank you very much.
I'LL BE BACK
Aurimas "Angush" Gedvilas apologized at RoG:
I am really happy to come back to my former team. I never made a statement from my point of view about my departure from the team, so I feel responsible to explain it.
As I'm now aware, I wasn't able to express my frustrations and emotions in a constructive way. The last few weeks before my departure it was really tense due to team results, and I had chosen the wrong way to express myself, which ended up hurting my dear teammates.
Now I am being invited back to prove myself with high expectations, and I am much more open minded than before while we all set our sights on the same goal - to win the Season 2 Championship!
