Dreamhack Summer: Details
@ Scene news channel

It's been a long time since League featured at a Dreamhack event and just like MLG, they decided to pick the game back up for their summer event in Sweden.

If i say a long time it means around a year and a half. At the very beginning of 2011, Dreamhack hosted the season 1 championship finals, back then they had 100.000 + viewers, a rare thing to see at the time. The event itself wasn't as big as the recent MLG spectator wise though, something which will probably have changed seeing that LoL has really took off in 2012. The event will feature 8 teams in the main tournament who will be competing from Saturday on wards to Tuesday for a $ 40.000 prize pool.

Before the main tournament kicks off, there will first be a BYOC-tournament at the venue. The bracket can go up to 128 teams and some notable teams who registered are TCM, Logix and off course CLG.eu, Despite not qualifying, they still managed to travel to Dreamhack in quite a unique way. They didn't reach the top4 of the final qualifier which by some reason saw them possibly not attend due to CLG not willing to pay the flight and accomodation costs. The players from CLG.eu reacted by making a post on Reddit where they asked the community to donate money so they would still be able to compete. In only 2 hours they secured all the money they needed, about €3500, thanks to the community of Reddit and their fans.

The teams who did manage to qualify online are, Moscow 5, Absolute Legends, Curse.eu and Fnatic. They'll play in the groupstage with the other 4 of the BYOC-qualifier. These matches will be bo1. The bracket is single elimination with best of 3. if you want to rewatch any of online qualifier matches you can check out Quickshot's youtube: Here.

As is the standard today, the matches will be streamed and casted by "Joe Miller" and "Deman", you can check out the stream: Here. The on site BYOC-Qualifiers will also be showed on twitch.
