GESL: You Don't Need A Saint Against A Curse
@ GESL channel

The 2 captains who were up against eachother were in the same team only a few weeks back. They didn't always agree and it'll be on both leaders to show that they can make the crucial calls to give their teams a victory.

Game 1 was all about botlane, Doublelift was playing extremely agressive on Urgot who's, despite the recent nerfs, still very strong. He shutdown Corki pretty hard, at around 15 minutes Urgot was at an 50 creeps advantage. Curse tried to hang on with Dragons and backdoors from Sainvicious but it didn't really help the cause. HotshotGG made the right calls pushing top all the way to take the 1st game.

Game 2 was all about the when and where, Curse picked off CLG.NA's players around the dragons and barons which made it a lot easier to get ahead, as we got to the end, the split push of Saintvicious didn't really do that much so both teams re-orientated towards baron. By now Kog'Maw's damage was ridiculous and a clutch Jarvan ultimate basically took it to a 3rd map.

The final game who would decide the semi finalist looked close in the beginning but once Hotshot got lvl 6 on She, he ulted in twice botlane, diving the enemy tower to secure 2 double kills. The other lanes were going even but Doublelift was getting way to far ahead of Urgot in cs and kills. A fed Vayne is not something anyone wants to deal with and it snowballed over the rest of game 3.

game 1

Curse.NA bans: Vladimir, Shen, Nautilus
CLG.NA bans: Morgana, Nocturne, Riven

Curse.NA picks: Soraka, Shyvana, Karthus, Corki, Malphite
CLG.NA picks: Urgot, Maokai, Taric, Irelia, Ryze

Both teams start off by spreading out all over the map, making sure no one invades. The team captains have a face off mid but go to their own jungle to take the buffs. Shyvana doesn't need the blue buff and takes the red first. He instantly goes top, does a 2 lvl dive together with Malph taking home firstblood. Saint than gets a bit cocky and goes for the enemy red buff. He gets punished by a 3 man sandwich, Soraka tried to go and help out but got caught by Urgot. Doublelift keeps bullying Corki and Soraka, taking them both out one by one. Meanwhile top Westrice gets ganked twice, almost getting away both times but the Ryze teleport is to big of a presence. A sneaky dragon from Curse keeps the gold close, CLG didn't had a timer for the respawn which gave Curse the chance to take the 2nd one aswell.

As we transition towards mid game, CLG gains a lot of map control by taking out 2 towers. The roaming they did of off that nearly secured them a few kills but for now Curse is lucky. CLG takes out the last 1st tier tower and they decide to bait Curse into the baron. The first big battle commences and all though Curse initiated well, both Urgot and Ryze were still alive in the end. The outcome was an Ace for CLG which followed up onto a baron. Curse still tries to stay in the game by taking the 3rd consecutive dragon aswell as a turret. However the gold lead is still very much in CLG's favor. Both final teamfights start off top and end in favor of HotshotGG and his men. They slowly took down the whole base of Curse Gaming and took game 1 without much hassle.

game 2

Curse.NA bans: Nautilus, Maokai, Nocturne
CLG.NA bans: Morgana, Shen, Urgot

Curse.NA picks: Alistar, Kog'Maw, Shyvana, Jarvan, Tristana
CLG.NA picks: Graves, Taric, Udyr, Anivia, Malphite

This time lvl 1 a double invade at the opposite sides of the map. They both secure the enemy red buff but Curse uses the positional advantage to 3 man gank top, Xhazzard who was already pushing his lane had no chance, Curse take the first blood for the 2nd time. A dive top from Shyvana and Westrice takes the score to 2-0. In the mean time, The Taric lane totally zones Cop once more. Getting ahead a ton of creep kills. Both junglers change their focus to the losing lanes, Hotshot gets a kill out of it while Saintvicious has to be happy with pressure to help Cop catching up. The first big battle is the one for the 2nd dragon, Curse kill 3 of the enemy team, take the dragon and lose none by the skin of their teeth.

You'd hope that the 3rd would be a charm for CLG but that wasn't to be. They couldn't contest the third dragon and a blue steal was quickly changed around in Curse's Favor, the 2v3 were 2 easy kills and a quick baron finally expanded the gold gap. A big push down mid takes them to the first inhibitor, but at the same time a backdoor from Doublelift who is still very much ahead of Cop in creep score takes a tower of their own. Not really a good trade. However CLG aren't out yet, because somehow they manage to ace Curse who at that point were on a 8K gold lead. The next push of Saint is a lot more passive, they don't want to take the risk to lose another fight and lose the baron for it.

The baron dance is too much too handle for Westrice who gets picked off in a 4v1 but he does manage to do the Jarvan ultimate, getting 4 CLG members in there. Kog'Maw layed down the law with his ultimate which resulted in 2 easy kills, a baron and another pick off on Doublelift. Curse didn't lose a lot of their guys in those engagements and ended the game right there.

game 3

Curse.NA bans: Nocturne, Nautilus, Maokai
CLG.NA bans: Morgana, Kog'Maw, Karthus

Curse.NA picks: Urgot, Shyvana, Soraka, Udyr, Ryze
CLG.NA picks: Shen, Alistar, Doublelift, Vladimir, Cassiopeia

We've seen 2 different lvl 1's and this one is no different, Curse goes bottom and CLG almost facechecks the brush, Sainvicious goes around with his squad and manage to take 1 kill, the wraits and the red. In all the chaos, Doublelift gets 3 kills bottom while Chauster sacrificed himself for it. A really good trade to shutdown Urgot a bit early game. Saintvicious tries to equalize the botlane but HotshotGG comes in right on time to turn it around in a kill of their own. Saint replies with a nice gank top, Vladimir didn't had his lvl 2 boots and payed the prize, they follow up with the first dragon. Botlane keeps going back and forth with ganks from both sides but it's botlane that's going out of control. A 50 creep difference in favor of Doublelift 15 minutes in says it all. Thanks to 2 Shen ult's they got 2 double kills botlane, pulling ahead by a few miles.

The respawn of the 2nd dragon is something CLG wants to contest, this is the first time they did so and it works out really good. Hotshot smites the dragon perfectly, they also take the teamfight 3 for 1 and the gold difference is already getting quite big. CLG push top towers and start the salsa for baron. Thanks to their map control, they see some of Curse recalling, giving them the chance to take down the purple beasty. Curse try and delay the inevitable but lose their lives and the first inhibitor for it. ALl though Saint tries a last fall out with Shyvana it's all in vain, the 18K gold lead is way too much to overcome even if you have a perfect teamfight. CLG easily take out Curse in their last battle for this GESL.
