Game 1 of TSM against Curse, two of the biggest names in the NA LoL scene, go at it at MLG LoL Arena this weekend kicking off the later afternoon shenanigans in NYC. Let's hop in and see what's up.
* Curse Bans: Malphite, Vladimir, Yorick
* TSM Bans: Shyvana, Rumble, Alistar
* Curse Picks: Urgot, Janna, Dr. Mundo, Sona, Orianna
* TSM Picks: Nocturne, Shen, Soraka, Graves, Ahri
We see Orianna almost take out Ahri early on, but nothing much has gone on early game. The clock ticks to 4 minutes as we see no deaths yet, nor invades. Elementz and Cop rotate around bot lane to balance out the pressure from Dyrus and TheOddOne. Casters seemed confused as we see Pobelter get zoned out extremely heavily at top lane. Xpecial and Chaox attempt to down a turret, but no cigar as they retreat after Nyjacky and SaintVicious pop out to counterbalance the push. Reginald at mid as always makes a bit of progress but Nyjacky rotates yet again and offsets his aggressiveness. One of the most passive games this event so far; 7 minutes in, no blood.
Dyrus 66 creeps to the 45 of Janna. Nyjacky's build's key is to obtain a chalice first; this will allow for a better absorption of mana damage as he builds up more AP. We can assume he'll be more passive, seeing as he wants damage soaking over AP, the opposite of an aggressive gank nature. 13 minutes in as TSM leads by 800 gold. First Blood of the game as Cop gets first blood onto Chaox and SaintVicious takes out Xpecial, despite Cop dying shortly afterwards. An eye for two, after Dyrus' ult onto Chaox and Pobelter's cancelled teleport for Dyrus. Curse picks up the Dragon immediately after and takes gold lead 16 minutes in.
TSM snipes a tower as Curse can't retaliate. Cop with a really nice ult swap but Dyrus' ult keeps TheOddOne alive for long enough allowing TSM to take a 2 for 1 trade and steal the blue buff. Regi gets caught alone like a n00b, but we can all assume it was just a miscommunication, as he's above that sort of misclick. Chaox gets caught downing a tower, gets caught and allows for a turnaround 3:2 for Curse, pushing forward through mid. Time update shows 25 minutes in-game, 15:00 Baron, 28:11 Dragon.
Spectacular engage by TSM after Reginald baits Curse into a bad engage; Dyrus juggles his alt and uses shadow ability, as TSM managed to take out the damage sources early. A nice 3:0 pickup for TSM heading into the 35 minute mark for this long first game. TSM takes out Baron and Dragon as the new times are reset to 42:17 and 43:13 respectively.
Wicked push from TSM at 45:00, and they take out the entire team of Curse with some wicked ults being set off left and right. 45:57 the GG's are called as TSM takes Game 1.
