As had been announced on several sites the CS:GO pre-order date was due to be approximately a month before the game was release. Although no official announcement about it has been made, the eagle eyed will have noticed the advertisement on the CS:GO official blog.
Quite simply it states that the pre-order date on Steam, will be the 7th of August and that the Playstation Network date will be the following week on the 14th.
It is now only a fortnight before the official release date and so far the signs are good that the game will be embraced upon release. The North American scene seems to be thriving, especially with the support of ESEA, and Europe isn't too far behind. However, the game is going to have to be ready to go on the day of release if mistakes of the past - as with CS:S - aren't to be repeated.
Regardless, Valve can anticipate a lot of interest in the title and pre-orders are likely to dictate the attitude towards the game and how much development it deserves.
