The German EPS Finals start tomorrow in Berlin at the IFA. Three terran player, three zerg player and two protoss player complete the eight man tourney grid, to fight for the next German champion.
So far there have only been two champions in the history of the German ESL Pro Series. This time, both champions are qualified for the round-of-eight as well. Furthermore, they both are in the same half of the grid, so we could probably see a semi final between the only champions, Giacomo ‘Socke’ Thüs and Dennis ‘HasuObs’ Schneider, both representing Aiur.
In the lower part, we have on the one hand a relatively unknown zergplayer, named Fabian ‘Hanfy’ Kattner, on the other hand we have the probably most traditional TvT in Germany. Sascha ‘GoOdy’ Lupp and Carlo ‘ClouD’ Giannacco will face each other. This game is a game with history, because the Italian terran has not the best memories of facing GoOdy. In more than 90% of their games, the “Panzergeneral” stands as the winner in the end.
The search of another ESL Pro Series Germany champion starts at 10:15 CET tomorrow and we have to be patient, if a different race than protoss can be the German champion.
