Fnatic have added to their Starcraft 2 roster by signing the former Quanitc player, SaSe.
The Swedish Protoss had been teamless since Quantic's closure in December. Fnatic was the first pro team that SaSe joined when he was a Warcraft 3 player, so this is somewhat of a homecoming for him.
SaSe is considered to be one of the best players in Europe. His distinctive style has seen him progress to the late stages of many major events over his career. He advanced to the top 16 or better at three of the five Dreamhack events in 2012. And at the MLG Winter Championship, SaSe finished fourth after qualifying through the open bracket. After an incredible run of beating Violet, Rain, Grubby, Leenock, Polt, and Stephano, he was finally defeated by Alicia.
Patrik 'cArn' Sättermon, Fnatic Chief Gaming Officer, made this statement, on aquiring SaSe:
We have had our eyes on Kim for quite some time now, and with the recent reconstruction of our Starcraft 2 division we feel that the Swedish Protoss star is a perfect match for our ambitions and goals in 2013. We are confident that the addition of Hammar will boost our divisions strenghts in team leagues, and we have a lot of faith in SaSe in his upcoming events, such as MLG Dallas in mid March.
SaSe himself said:
I am really happy to have found such a stable team in fnatic. Now I feel like I don't have to worry anymore and can focus 100% on improving my play. I hope as the year goes by I can show a lot of great games and perfomances! Hear of the Swarm is being released soon and it is time to release the new SaSe aswell! Thank you everyone who has supported me and I would be really happy if you kept doing so! Fighting!
SaSe will make his first appearance as a Fnatic player in the Taiwan eSports League, starting today.
