The Electronic Sports League their newest edition of the European Nations Championship. This season sees the addition of a new game, Counter-Strike: Source, which joins the ranks of Warcraft III, Counter-Strike and FIFA 08.

Statement from ESL regarding the pickup of Counter-Strike: Source:

Right now Counter-Strike:Source is a constant part of the European eSports scene. Every nation got it's top teams and competition is running almost everywhere. Countries like Germany and Italy have already an ESL Pro Series running for more than a year. After adding Counter-Strike: Source to the ESL Major Series it was the number one when we thought about an additional game for the European Nations Championship. We expect a very nice first season with Counter-Strike: Source. Which country will be the first European Champion in CS:S

This is the latest major tournament featuring various nations in Counter-Strike: Source, another one being the currently running Clanbase Nationscup.

At European Nations Championship Finals the best four teams in each discipline will compete for money as well as honor and the standing of their country in a double elimination tree. So every team can win the tourney even if a lost match comes in their way. This guarantees action and tension right from the start up to the grand final.
