You've been franchised!

With the American CGS draft date looming, on the 7th to the 9th of March, the six General Managers have each selected one player out of the ten to lock into the franchise.

LA Complexity - Danny “fRoD” Montaner (Counter-Strike: Source)
3D New York - Matt “Wizakor” Wood (FIFA 08)
San Francisco Optx - Vanessa “Vanessa” Arteaga (Dead or Alive 4 - Women's)
Dallas Venom - Emmanuel “Master” Rodriguez (Dead or Alive 4 - Men's)
Chicago Chimera - Jeremy “BlackMamba” Florence (Dead or Alive 4 - Men's)
Carolina Core - Ryan “Offbeat Ninja” Ward (Dead or Alive 4 - Men's)

In addition the CGS will allow four more players to be locked to the rosters, making it probable that the exact same system will be used across the globe.
The Franchise Players represent one of three player classifications announced for the 2008 season. In addition to the single Franchise Player for each North American team, each General Manager will choose up to four Protected Players whose identities will be revealed on the eve of the 2008 Draft in Austin set for March 9. These four players will remain on their respective teams for the 2008 season; the remaining five members of each team will be released into the general draft pool, where they will join the Combine participants. At the Draft, each GM will select five Drafted Players to complete their team rosters from the general draft pool.
With Danny "fRoD" Montaner of LA Complexity being the only Counter-Strike: Source player protected so far, this may suggest that CGS will be going for an individual pick system for Counter-Strike, similair to the one used for Forza 2 (Formerly Project Gotham Racing 3).

UPDATE!!

It appears CGS players salaries will be dynamically affected based on being franchise player or not.
CGS players in 2008 will receive compensation according to their new classification: Franchise Player, Protected Player, or Drafted Player.
