With Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4 just a day away lets take a quick look at whats going on, where its going on and whats entailed in Crossfire's latest and biggest LAN yet.
Running from tomorrow, Friday February 29th, right through to Sunday March 2nd this proves to be one of the most anticipated LANs in recent memory. Not only is it the biggest to date by Crossfire, but it also involves the biggest game since Half Life 2 in Call of Duty 4. With teams competing in Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and also individual competitions in Warsow and poker. As such you could see this as a coming of age even for Crossfire. With the introduction of game of the year Call of Duty 4 and the inclusion of ET: Quake Wars, we can see Crossfire taking the initiative to modernise itself.
Lets be honest, the reason this LAN is receiving so much attention is partly down to the impressive prize purse involved. With €11,000 on the line across all games teams will of course battle it out for bragging rights but also swollen prize purses. Here's a run down of the total funds available.
With so much attention on this LAN, there will be plenty of coverage from all corners of gaming. A host of sites will carry news, none quite as good as ourselves of course, but also ESL and QuadV have pulled out all the stops to provide you visual coverage. In attendance for QuadV will be Stuart "TosspoT" Saw, James "Splodge" Lodge & Matt "A_Spec" Hoving, and also most ET players will recognise "Iain" who'll no doubt give his own informed views. They will be running live video and audio on location which all can be found at QuadV.com. Together with QuadV covering the event live, ESL TV will be in Enschede to produce a documentary. They will focus on
SK Gaming, the return of
TEAM-SPEEDLINK and also cover ET, ET:QW and warsow, with interviews of players both new and established. ESL are aiming for a late March release date. For those new to ESL's documentary work you can view a clip of CDC 2 here.
Well thats just a really quick and brief preview of what is sure to be an absolute stormer of a weekend over in the land of tulips and cheese(!) Stay here at Cadred.org for every result and shred of news from Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4.
