My i33 predictions
@ Blog channel channel

These are my predictions for the top 10 at i33, with reasons why I think they will place where they are going to place and also reasons why some teams didn't cut the mustard and fell short.

Signups worth mentioning:

4kings.css
Animate
AuxiliA
Ctx
Team Ebuyer
Egaming
xciteuk
Reason-Gaming
London-Mint
Birmingham Salvo
TCM
TLR
Logitech.fi
Anim
Fnatic
LO3

Now we see an unusual amount of decent teams signed up to this LAN, 16 in total, some of which have been around for a long time and some that seem to have been thrown together primarily for this LAN.

Here’s my expectations for the top 10 at i33:-

1 - 4kings.css - Angeldust, Odiouz, God, Natu, Eversor

Previously known as Insignia Cadre and then picked up by four-kings more recently, this team has been putting in a lot of practice and getting the results. You only have to look at the roster they have and their previous LAN experience to realise that they could dominate this LAN if they perform on the day.

2- Reason-Gaming - Giftig, Hellblinde, Warclown, Jimmy, Fetish

The team that needs no mention, Reason-gaming have been turning up to LAN events all over Europe in the last few months and progressing every time. Losing out HudzG to team-ebuyer, people assumed this would effect their performance when they brought in fresh blood with giftig and Hellblinde, they couldn't of been more wrong. Going into this LAN after an amazing performance at IG5 their confidence will be at an all time high.

Fnatic - airaid, xertion, darky, proph, ylss

Fnatic are often the favourites for most LAN events but with the recent loss of blaze and their uncertainty of whether they can make the event, I am going to put them at 3rd, not to mention that if they go they will be using the T.U.P feature, but with their experience and recent playing history with ylss they could easily secure a strong finish.

4- Logitech.fi - Owa, topsikrt, kononen, nashje, samitsky

Often forgotten and relatively unknown to alot of players within the scene, Logitech have been slowly progressing and getting stronger since the loss of odiouz to 4kings, this is mainly the reason I put them in the 4th spot, people can say one player doesn't make a team but when that player is as good as odiouz I see it as a big blow to lose him.

5- Birmingham Salvo - mangiacapra, pt, ady, rattlesnake, wilzoo

The first CGS team to make the top 10, salvo haven't had the best of starts in mr15 tournaments and I would be putting them a lot higher if the tournament only consisted of the 2/3 CGS maps that they seem to practice a lot but with maps such as cbble, contra and fire making regular appearances at the i-series in crucial stages this could affect them as a team. Their recent loss of weZ affected them, but only on a short-term level as it has become apparent that Wilzoo, formerly of London-Mint, has joined their roster.

6- Team Ebuyer- Hudzg, beta, callisto, tiLs, crazycat

A recent strong performance at the IG5 LAN in Birmingham, with close losses to Reason-gaming and London-Mint, they will be going into this LAN fully prepared with a lot of hard hours practice. With players such as HudzG, Crazycat and Callisto, if these three are on form then they certainly could turn a few heads. I see weak links in the team, therefore im putting them in 6th position as I feel there is a lot of pressure on members of their team to prove themselves and do well at this LAN after recent poor performances at the last few events.

7- London-Mint - HenryG, url, hughsy, ritch, Haz

It was a tough decision to put London-Mint so low in the rankings but after the recent discovery of the loss of one of their stronger players in Wilzoo to Birmingham Salvo I feel that they are unprepared this close to LAN to do as well, even though their standin is none other than fellow CGS professional player Haz from Stockholm Magnetix.

8- AuxiliA - jam0r, gandofini, gav, deadcell, arak

After recently coming back from a bootcamp in Scotland I have high hopes for the
AuxiliA players, each member of their team has plenty of experience, ranging from CPL
to CGS they are definately the under-dogs of this tournament and could suprise a lot of people.

9- TCM - pez, kofk, l@terz, speed, nayden

One of the lesser known teams going into this tournament, TCM are definately one to watch out for. If this tournament was based on 1v1 aim map then I believe they could take first place as their aim seems to be top-class I just feel their inexperience as a team could affect them. With a good performance at their first LAN as a team at IG5 I feel if they cut out the rookie mistakes and built on the confidence of L@terz, they could definately place a lot higher. I see Pez as the weak link in the team as he seems to get a lot of criticism from the community and this could affect his game on LAN when it matters.

10- TLR - jai, debaser, quiver, techno, farley

A close call between 9th and 10th as I feel there is very little separating them individually. I feel it will all come down to who plays better on the day. Another good performance at IG5 getting a lot of rounds off the better teams. If one or two of them start getting the confidence and rhythm that they have online then they could easily upset one of the top teams.

Good luck to all the teams in attendance at i33!
