i33: Camber Interviewed
@ i33 channel

The following article is written by David "jaFro" Davison.

Cortex-Gaming has been an outside team in most peoples eyes since a disappointing first LAN performance at i32, but a lot has changed since then and I got the chance to speak to Camber, clan-leader and in-game caller for Ctx.css, to see what they had done since their last LAN and what had changed.

Firstly can you introduce each member of your team for me and give us some background about them.

Camber

Leader of ctx, ingame caller. Mixed gaming style as i can adapt to any player i'm playing alongside on my team.

Rottich

Main awper of ctx, will get the entry picks while holding off a site by himself. I come to Rottich to help me make decisiion with leagues and any problems we have within the team.

ShadowMan

Our 2nd awper alongside having an extremely deadly rifle allowing easy lock downs. One of the members which is in question from the CSS community due to his insane aim.

raisins'

Very passive player will more than likely win rounds in clutch situations but depends on the mood he is in, can be a player who takes a team down solo if the teams morale is high.

Mr.K

New player to the team, definately one of the best players that was available and such a good character to have in the team. Will pull off some crazy shots that'll leave your jaw hanging. Good pick-up by my fellow members.

Whats changed since i32, what changes have you made and are you happy with them?

After i32 lan we were pretty disappointed about how we performed in the last game which was against Tigit so afterwards the team felt like we needed some sort of change towards our team which caused two people to leave. Afterwards we struggled to settle down with a 5th with us going through about 2 players over the space of a month but finally after searching we were happy how Mr-K played and decided to keep him. Good move from us as it brung experience to the team which was lacking due to none of us playing against good teams due to coming from poor backgrounds.

A lot of people question Mr-k as to whether hes legitimate or not, how has he settled into the team and what kind of practice are you putting in for the upcoming i33?

Well we've only really put the effort in the past 3 weeks due to bad management from me. Played with Mr-K at a few lans and he seems pretty legit to me, i don't really see how he will have a different performance compared to online. Only problem i can see happening is getting off to a bad start which seems to be the case at the moment. A clash of personalitys was a problem at start when he joined but we all settled down and adapted on how to make us play better as a team.

You are seeded in the 17-24 prizepool, with top teams such as infused-gaming, EGaming and LO3 seeded just above you. Realistically, where do you expect to finish at i33, do you feel you are being underestimated in your current position?

Well from my eyes we should be seeded where we are, but with us not taking part in any leagues its understandable with our last i-series finish . Alot of the teams we play which are seeded better than us agree we should be higher its just one of them things. It puts a thorn in the side of the 9-16th seeds that gets us in the groups as I feel were equal to them.

Are there any teams you feel could surprise people at this LAN?

It's really hard to pick when the top 16 teams are pretty close to each other in some way, but really i'd like to see AuxillA pull in some good performances at the lan. I think they just have what it takes to do well, TCM, TLR and EGAMING are really close skill wise, but I think they'll out perform them even though the run up to the lan has been hard for them with roster changes. Probably biased, but I don't really speak to any of them on a 1on1 basis, just like how they play and their attitudes towards the game.

Whos going to finish top 3 at this event for you?

Reason, 4kings and Logitech, but it's hard to call, so many good teams are going will be an awesome event to watch.

Ok thanks for taking time out of your busy practice schedule to talk to us, good luck from me and all the people on Cadred at this event, any shoutouts or pre-lan banter?

Thanks for the support from ctx, m0rf helping us and giving us the support thats needed. Looking forward to Ewaf being in tears after our tactics being timed 100%, Ben Kofk won't lock down this event and will join TCM-2 after lan. Much love to nrg-.

Cadred thanks David "JaFro" Davison for doing the interview, as well as Camber.
