After surprising people at i32 under their old name Prize-Play, lo3 will be looking to turn heads at i33. Cadred caught up with Bauer in the run up to the tournament.
You guys were underdogs at i32, and you pulled off some nice results leaving you with a very respectable position. You've got a bit more pressure on you to replicate this now, with a higher seeding and a new sponsor watching you. Do you think you'll be able to match the expectations?
Because there are more teams of a higher caliber than last time attending i33, i think it will be alot harder for us to achieve a similar result to the last lan, we really hope to at least match our sead and maybe cause a few upsets like last lan.
Considering the amount of big teams attending the lan we are very pleased for being put into the top 16, i think alot of people are doubting whether or not we deserve it so hopefully we can prove a few people wrong by getting some good results.
Well after i32 we knew that Ragg3h wasn't sure whether he wanted to play still or not so replacing him was our main goal. We knew we had to get a good player in to fill Ragg3h's boots because not only is he a good player but he also has a certain level of confidence and calling ability which was really shown in the later stages of the i32 tournament. To fill ragg3h's boots we got Boostey in, Boostey is the kind of player that you can have trust in when clutching, even when the odd's are against him you still have faith that he can win the round. He is also our caller and in game leader so is perfect for the spot. moomin wasn't able to attend the last lan but has been playing online with the same 4 players for over 6 months so i believe this new roster is better than the last overall.
I think out of the two CGS teams Mint have the best chance to get gold because of there previous success at iSeries events. However i would like to see eBuyer cause some upsets and possibly go for gold.
In no particular order my top 3 would be reason, fnatic and 4kings. Despite some questionable performances from fnatic recently, I think they'll bounce back as this is the tournament to prove they've got what it takes. Reason are on a streak at the moment and are playing amazing, and 4k have one of the most amazing rosters in Europe at the moment.
I think because there are potentially 6 or 7 teams that could win this tournament i can't really see any of the big european teams dropping much lower than their seed.
