Dignitas given Red Card
@ Eurocup XVII channel

In yet another controversy for the Clanbase Eurocup, Team Dignitas's Call of Duty 4 team have been given a Red Card, due to use of a player with a wrong GUID.

Earlier on Dignitas defeated H2k 25-23, but due to the red card Dignitas will go down to the lower bracket, while H2K advance to the Grand Final.

Dignitas have claimed that the "freelancer" was in fact SKO, whom accidentally clicked on the wrong install of Call of Duty 4 to launch the game.

Talks are still going on between all the parties involved, we will have statements soon.

Statement from Clanbase;
It has been brought to our attention, that Team Dignitas have used a freelancer in their match against H2k.Thermaltake which ended in a 25-23 victory to Team Dignitas. Player SKO was playing with a different GUID then the one registered on ClanBase and is therefore seen as a freelancer.

It's a shame this has to happen, but we have no other option then to give Team Dignitas a red card and a forfeit loss for breaking the following rule:

The last change of a GUID can not be done later than 24 hours before a match. Players who did not register the correct GUID more than 24 hours before a match will be rewarded with a Red card and match forfeit for their team.

This means H2k.Thermaltake will advance to the Grand Final, and Team Dignitas will be put back to the Lower Brackets. It's a real shame this has to happen, but rules are rules and they count for every team on ClanBase. I still want to thank QuadV for broadcasting this game, although it ended in a shame...
Statement from Dignitas\SKO;
We won the EuroCup WB Finals in a very tense game, 25-23. Because of a power outage two days ago which messed up my harddrive, I had to play on my awesome XPS Dell laptop.

This laptop had previously been owned and played on by other people, and thus already had a cd-key entered.

H2k saw that I had a different GUID than that entered on clanbase (after they lost off course), and claimed a forfeit win. They indeed got a forfeit win, because rules are rules.

Just application of the rules can not be expected from the admins, because this is too complicated to coordinate, but if h2k would have looked at the server logs, they could have verified that it was indeed me playing. They would have seen that the IP I played from matches the IP I always play from.

They did not take this effort, because their sole purpose was to get a forfeit win. This deduction is sufficiently simple for anybody to understand, and I think everyone but the most fanatic h2k fan will agree with me that their actions are absolutely disgusting. Whenever I mentioned h2k in this statement this does not include raigeki and rukkae, as they tried to reverse the despicable.
