@ General coverage channel

ETF2L Season 2 has finally finished! After a total of 120 teams starting the second season in 12 different divisions, here are the final rankings in the top 6 divisions:

Division 1

4Kings
Excello
Clan United

Division 2a

extenSia!
last one alive lock the door

Division 2b

Cruciamentum
TFPortal.de

Division 3a

dmg
Veritas

Division 3b

Dead Cows Strike Back - Red Team
skwean!

Division 3c

klan:fader
n2o-gaming.de TF2

The title of ETF2L Season 2 champions goes again to 4Kings. The top division was once again a tough fight between the top teams of Europe, with 4K only being able to secure their title by beating TLR 6-0 in their last game of the season.

Even this victory was not enough for 4K as Excello had the chance to catch their lead by winning both maps against Clan United in their final game. Unfortunately for them, the second map in the game ended as a tie and 4K was crowned as the champions, finishing 2 points ahead of the Swedes.

Statement from Björn "4K^bybben" Andersson:

I never had the chance to play any etf2l matches with 4K, but it was nonetheless a very exciting finale to the season. Unfortunately I didn't watch the match between Excello and United, which would decide whether we (4K) had to play a final match or not, but I was told what the score was shortly after. I wouldn't have mind playing a last match against Excello (which would have happened if they won both maps against United), but of course I'm happy that the match secured our victory in the league when Excello won one map, and lost the other.

Statement from Karl "Excello^weqo" Terävä:

I'm quite happy about our 2nd place in ETF2L season 2. Of course, we'd like to win but considering that we got a more or less completely new roster in the middle of the season and were forced to play without sommie in our last two games, I have to say it went over our expectations. Aiming on coming back to the next season with a more solid team and trying to win this time.

Season 2 results for 4K and Excello:

4Kings vs Excello 6-0
4Kings vs Clan United 3-3
4Kings vs Blood Pressure 6-0
4Kings vs Weapons of the Rebelion 3-3
4Kings vs The Last Resort 6-0

Excello vs 4Kings 0-6
Excello vs Weapons of the Rebelion 6-0
Excello vs The Last Resort 6-0
Excello vs Blood Pressure 6-0
Excello vs Clan United 4-1

Like Cadred.org reported earlier, division 1 suffered heavy losses as four teams (s6, Kompaniet, IDAC and Fracture) folded before the second season finished but luckily this did not happen across the lower divisions and they were able play a more complete season. The top2 teams from both divisions 2a and 2b are promoted to division 1 for the next season.

In div 2a, extenSia, last one alive lock the door and Knights were the clear favourites before the season started, so no surprises here.

extenSia and last one alive lock the door both finished with 42 points, so they will have to play a division final to find out the winner of this group. exS won their head to head game so they might have a small advantage in this game.

Division 2b was dominated by Cruciamentum as most people expected, but TFPortal's second place was surprising to some.

Statement from Oskar "c.kent" Rönnbacka:

Well, all I can say about this div2 is that it felt like a default win for us. The only match we lost was because we were playing the whole game with one player less than the opponent. The next league might be a little more challenging though.

In divisions 3a and 3b, dmg and DCSB Red Team were the clear winners. Both teams lost only one map during the season and won the rest. They are going to be tough opponents to beat in div 2 next season.

Statement from Evgeny "dmg.NeoN" Garanin:

First of all, I want to say thanks to all div3 teams for participating in the league, and special thanks to Fracture\cosmic. It was our first experience at European arena, excluding 2nd Cup match vs Clan ONE. After the cup game we took our mistakes into account and went through season 2 with confidence. We hope to gain improvements for our teamplay in the future. We will fight against more skilled teams in next season and we'll try to get a promotion to div1.

Congratulations to all the ranked teams! Stay tuned for ETF2L cup news while we wait for the third season to start this fall.
