EMS II: Smashing Sunday
@ General coverage channel

This Sunday, Team Fortress 2 will see something unprecedented! The ESL is giving you 3 top-notch matches: Pandemic vs. Team uber, 4 Kings vs. Excello and last but not least, United Kingdom vs. Finland.

Unfortunately the great show case of matches is somewhat dampened by the decision to run all games at 21:00 CET.

The ESL Nations Cup match United Kingdom vs. Finland can be found here

Statement from Patrick Rudolph // Paddel, ESL

The two EMS Play-off matches on Sunday are a guarantor for interesting TF2 at its highest level. We are very excited to see whether or not Excello can kick 4 Kings from their throne and if Pandemic can establish themselves against the ping differences again. Keep in mind that Team uber vs. Pandemic will have a live coverage by Pwnage.TV!

The second topic of our "Hot Sunday" is the TF2 Nations Championship Warm-Up Cup. United Kingdom will face Finland on Sunday in the probably most exciting match of the first round.

Pandemic vs. Team uber

After their narrow loss in the Winner Bracket vs. Excello, Pandemic certainly needs to be considered the favourite of this encounter. However, by knocking out "The Last Resort" in Round 1, Team uber has already proven to be a worthy contestant.

Can Pandemic finally shake off the ping difference, or will Team uber baffle us once again? Line-up Team uber:   Bas1c, Inqui, eviLhuNteR, mvp., phL, treigzak
Line-up Pandemic:    alexwut, carnage, newby, REP, Reptile, TheFragile, oPlaiD

The match will be played at 21:00 CET on cp_badlands and cp_gravelpit. In case of a draw after 2 maps, teams will have to choose between cp_pro_granary, cp_badlands or cp_well as deciding map.

Join up with Leonardo Gonzalez // leogeo, who will be covering his first ESL Major Series match.

Coverage begins at around 21h CET live on pwnage.tv.

Statement from Marco Wichmann // mvp.

Pandemic is without any question the odds-on favourite but it's not said that we don't stand a chance at all.

This will be Team uber's last appearance and we want to say goodbye with one enjoyable, final match. There still is a small chance that this won't be our last stand though.

Reptile, I'm coming for you!

Statement from Samuel Lingle // oPlaiD

We're looking forward to a rematch with Excello and a game with 4Kings, but we can't overlook... Animuber.

Anyway, we're happy with the recent change that makes Gravelpit a best-of-three itself so we won't run into the situation that happened against Excello where we played poorly on a single map and that cost us a match.

Statement from Leonardo Gonzalez // leogeo

I've been following Pandemic's progress in North American TF2 since they were known as The Experiment near the beginning of competitive Team Fortress 2. They kicked ass then and they still kick ass now.

Only recently, roughly a few weeks ago actually, have we at Pwnage.TV decided to start putting focus on the European side of competitive gaming so I've not much knowledge on teams like Team Uber that Pandemic will be facing on Sunday.

Now even though I don't know much about Team Uber, I think that if they are this far into the Major Series, I'm going to expect a fantastic match up between the two teams! One thing is for certain, I'm real excited over Euro TF2 in general. There are many more teams and matches than there are in NA that it almost overwhelms me.

4 Kings vs. Excello

When the acting ETF2L champion clashes together with the ETF2L runner-up, the match is set to be a total blow off! And even though both teams know each other quite well, you can be sure that each team will give their competitor a run for their money.

With 4 Kings losing their team captain "Riemu" into early retirement and Excello´s "Glufse" just returning from a 7-day trip, both teams start handicapped into the match.

At the end it will only come down to one thing: Who holds all the aces? Line-up 4 Kings:   bybben, Masiina, Mick, ryb, TeoK, WinNy
Line-up Excello:   appe, FeTTe, Glufse, InS, sommie, russi/weqo

Maps for this match are cp_pro_granary and cp_gravelpit. If it comes down to stalemate, teams will have to eliminate two of the following maps: cp_pro_granary, cp_badlands or cp_well. The remaining will be chosen as decider map.

A 128 slot Source TV will be made available by 4 Kings and we are currently in contact with QuadV, trying to provide you with some high-quality coverage for this exceptional game! Stay tuned for more information here on Cadred.org!

Statement from Ruben Ljungdahl // ryb

Excello, our opponent for this Sunday, has a strong line-up and we have seen them showing off their amazing performance against teams like Pandemic. The game is going to be tight and sweaty, I am sure of it.

I think we will see some duels between bybben and Glufse, the former scout duo in Excello, which I think could be extra interesting.

Statement from Christoffer de la Motte // Glufse

Granary will be a tough one for us, without Riemu I have no idea what 4 Kings have up their sleeve, and with us (probably) going for a two demo line-up we wont have the big advantage that you have vs. a Heavy.

On Gravelpit we know we are the stronger team. 4 Kings have never(?) been a very strong team on this map and Excello have always performed well and without a Heavy (Riemu) they will have it even harder.
Be sure not to miss this game folks!
