CLUK: Quiver interviewed
@ CLUK 21 channel

Having been pushed into the lower bracket by Zboard, Zen were then knocked out of the tournament by underdogs Core89.

Cadred spoke to Tom "Quiver" Griffiths about the event.

So Tom, you won all five of your group games to finish top of Group C, and then won 16-2 against both invicta and hostile, but you were eventually knocked out by Zboard and Core89, are there any excuses, or were you simply outplayed?
Zboard totally out aimed us, they were just individually so much better than us, and we never really got on top of the game, all of the momentum went in their favour, they won all the 1on1s, the clutches, they’re a better team.

Core89... more than anything they took us by surprise, I’d never really played them online before, and I never thought they had a very big reputation, but I guess they proved people wrong. I think we chocked in that game to be honest – they played well, but it came down to us chocking more than their performance.
Looking at the rest of the tournament, have you been surprised by the downfalls of teams such as TLR and Gamble?
I was surprised by TLR, as individually I rate all of them highly. As to gamble, I haven’t really seen them play, so I don’t really know how good they are, though I would rate royalflush and invicta above them anyway, so I can’t say I’m surprised to see them go out so early. It’s good to see teams like royalflush doing so much better than their seed, and Core89 too.
How have you found the LAN itself, from an organisational point of view?
Apart from the one game that had huge lag spikes in the group stages, it’s been run very well, and all the games have been on time – organisers have done very well.
Before the game Mole said “if we lose to core89 we’ll fold” – need I complete this question?
Well from the expressions of everyone after the game, no-one was pleased with our performance, that’s the only real game we’ve played all LAN as a chance to prove ourselves, and we flopped. From what I know right now, I don’t think we’re folding, but we are obviously very disappointed with this result.
Ok, thanks for this interview – who do you think will win the event?
Zboard, easily. Oh, and shoutouts to everyone on the CC vent, and to my boyfriend.
