Taking place between the 21st and 23rd of November 2008, the ESL announced the details surrounding their Continental Finals America event, after earlier announcing their expansion to North America.
The event will be held at the VGXpo in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with the best American teams battling for $80,000USD in prizemoney, with $50,000 going towards Counter-Strike 1.6, and the remaining $30,000USD going to World of Warcraft.
At least two slots will be awarded from each game to the Global Finals where $200,000USD prizemoney will be at stake. There will be eight Counter-Strike 1.6 openings, and twelve World of Warcraft spots open.
During the online qualification process, six teams from Counter-Strike 1.6, will eventually earn themselves a spot at the finals, while the remaining two slots will be selected from South America. All the WoW teams must qualify through the online system.
This will surely boost the North American scene in many ways and we'll surely see some great action take place in the coming months.
