After a rather convincing win by the multi-national Crossed Cadred decided to catch up with the team leader, warclown, to talk about TeX, the lineup and how things have worked so far.
First off, how did you get here? I mean you have people from 3 different nations, it must have been hard timing the whole thing so you would all arrive at fairly the same time.
Well first off we went to Holland for a week of bootcamping at the wonderful cafè Wzzrd in Enschede. Our manager came with us, so we all basicly flew from Holland to Denmark together. Me and Leffa stayed at prophs place two weeks before this with our computers, so we have loads of stuff to carry (slitwrists).
You’ve gotten here, and played your first match, which you won, how is your first impression of TeX and playing NON-BYOC?
TeX have lived up to my expectations. Last year I weren’t able to attend because I weren’t in a team at the time, so I was one of the guys sitting home watching the whole thing on SourceTV. Attenting a NON-BYOC isn’t really anything new for me, so I really don’t mind. But I hope for next year they will get some better TFTs, because these ones aren’t really good.
Theres been a lot of talk about Xreal being in your lineup, how are things working out with him?
After playing with this guy for a couple of weeks I’ve really started to like him, socially and ingame. He knows he is on a different level, so he takes all the critisism quite well.
This first game he really impressed us all, and a lot of the other players at this event – and I’m happy for him. Keep it up Joel!
Your next match is against your fellow countrymen Tweaked who have yet to play a match, how big are their chances against you?
Well they shouldn’t have a chance to win, really! But since we are a fairly new lineup, and we don’t have the kind of teamplay we need to compete at the highest level yet – they might cause the upset win here. They got a couple of really good aimers, so it will be an interesting match. But if we don’t win this game, Ill get flamed for ages!
Now that some rounds have been played and teams have showed what they are capable of at this LAN, how do you see the end result being?
Kind of early to call this, because most teams have just played “lesser skilled teams”. But I really hope magnitude has gotten their shit together, so they can prove that they are one of europes absolute best teams. I also see some of the “new” teams doing well (“new” as in Obi, MGC etc).
Any last shoutouts before I send you back down the stairs?
I want to thank our manager, Simon Adams, for making the bootcamp and this LAN event a reality for us. He is constantly following us up and sorting everything out. I want to thank our sponsors aswell, Sennheiser and Overclockers.co.uk!
Cadred.org would like to thank warclown for his time and wish Crossed good luck in the competition.
