After absolutely destroying rivals Four-Kings Magnitude are one of the few teams in the event with a 100% record so far. Cadred caught up with Troels “eXce” Kierulff.

Hey eXce, how are you doing?

I’m fine thank-you, I think the tournament is going really well, the computers are OK now, if you look back at last year we had like 40 fps in smokes, we have 100 now, but the TFT monitors are still needing to be improved.

You’ve just beaten Four-Kings in some style, pretty much confirming your victory in Group A, how was that game for you?

That was a really insane game, we knew it was going to be a sick vocal game, since we always shout, and there’s such a good mood between us and four-kings. We’re friends outside the game as well, so we knew it was going to be a sick game.

And how about the actual game, are you really just that much better than them?

Yeah we’ve practiced a lot up to this event, we know from what they’ve told us that they happened practiced since one of their players went on holiday a few weeks ago, and then they’ve only had one week to prepare. Basically we knew we were going to beat them, as we’ve practiced against them online, but it went really really well. We were actually surprised they picked inferno over mill.

You only need to beat Mortifer now to have won all your games, giving you a default win in your first upper bracket match – you must be feeling quite confident for the rest of the tournament?

Yeah, we are feeling confident since we’ve seen some weakness in the other great teams like MGC and Obi, and Reason too. We’re confident that we’re going to get far in this tournament, and if we keep our game up I’m sure we’re going to win this event.

How about the other top teams here, Crossed in particular – can they pose a threat to you?

Yeah, they can definitely pose a threat to us, they’re playing Multigamer at the moment, which should be a hard match as well. We thought the Obi match was going to be an insane game between those two, but it turned out to be a clean walkover for Crossed. I guess they could meet us in the upper bracket final if we don’t meet them earlier in the system.

So you’re confident of a victory, what about the other podium places, got any predictions?

I think it’s hard to say any predictions about the teams because their performances have been so mixed, but I guess Reason would actually be in top3, and probably MGC or Crossed.

So what about outside the gaming arena, how has the event been for you so far?

Despite the huge delay for matches, and lack of breaks, I think the event has been sick, and it will always in my eyes be the sickest event ever. It’s so professional, everything is counted for, order, people shouting, spectators – all your focus is on the screen when you’re playing, not some guys behind you, tapping your shoulder – its just the best event ever.

We’re staying in a nice expensive hotel, Prindsen, that’s a great hotel with a really really good breakfast, which I think is a good start to the day, since thats the main meal for the day, and you get your energy for the day in your breakfast.

Concerning the travel, we have three guys living close to Roskilde anyway, so that’s not really a big problem, Rytme was taking a first class train to Roskilde, so he had a nice trip as well. Henrik just drove.

OK, so any final comments?

I’d like to thank the admins for the event, for being so understanding about the settings, helping out, being friendly every time you ask them, there’s no problem at all turning to an admin with an issue.
