ESL NC: Consolation Bracket Final
@ TF2 Nations Cups channel

This Sunday sees two great Team Fortress 2 Nations clash together, Sweden and United Kingdom. The winner of this game will meet Finland in the Grand Final of the ESL Nations Championship Warm-Up Cup.
The match will be played Sunday 24th at 22h CET on the maps Turbine and Gravelpit. You can spectate the match on a 1020 slots SourceTV provided by Cadred.org and Verygames.net!

Sweden

Before the cup started, Sweden was ranked as the favorites along with Finland and they have met the expectations. In the first round, Sweden easily defeated Poland but lost the first map of their second round game against Team France, Badlands 1-2. The Swedes however didn't seem too impressed and took the next two maps decisively, winning Granary 6-1 and Well 4-0 consecutively.

In the Upper Bracket Final, Sweden had to face their neighbouring rivals Finland. A match that turned out to be an extremely tight fight between two equal teams. Finland won the first map Granary after a golden cap round, but Sweden managed to pull a golden cap win of their own on Gravelpit, drawing the game. The deciding round Badlands was already looking good for the Swedes as they managed to take a 3-1 lead with only 5 minutes left on the clock. However, this wasn't enough to seal the deal as somehow Finland was able to turn the tide by scoring 2 more rounds in the last 5 minutes. The golden cap round seemed to be surprisingly easy for Finland, who had a good momentum at the end of the match. Finland won the game 2-1 and Sweden was knocked down to the Consolation Bracket.

Statement from Ricky Eriksson // sommie, Sweden

"Sweden and UK are two of the strongest countries in TF2 at the moment, so this is anyone's game. If we are to proceed to the finals against Finland, the TF2 community is looking at another thriller. Last time we clashed, three out of three maps ended in a draw and golden cap."

United Kingdom

Team UK was rated behind Sweden and Finland before the cup started, but over the weeks, they've grown to be a very strong contentender for the title. UK's first game against Finland didn't start well. The Finns took a clear 6-2 win on the opening map Badlands. However, on the second map Turbine, the Finns seemed to be asleep for the first 25 minutes and UK took the map 12-10. This didn't help them too much though, as they got crushed 0-10 on the deciding map Granary.

This meant a long road for UK, as they were knocked down to the Consolation Bracket right away. Their next game against Netherlands was an easy and expected 2-0 win. In the following round against France, UK had a tough time on both maps, but in the end managed to win Granary 4-3 and Badlands 4-2 consecutively.

The next game was highly anticipated for UK as they played against Germany. The Germans however didn't offer them much resistance and the Brits took the game with a 7-0 and a 20-5 victory on Granary and Turbine. Such a crushing blow against one of the biggest TF2 Nations sends a clear message to Sweden and Finland: this team is not to be underestimated in the Finals.
