Crack Clan have just announced that they are taking on the well known mainly Finnish TF2 team Interrobang. Crack Clan is an organisation which has existed for around 10 years, and is now looking to make new waves in the professional gaming scene.
I took the time to speak to Luke “Luke” Cotton this morning and ask him about this new development for TF2 and his organisation.
Why did you decide to take on this particular team?
We always planned on having a team at PC Gamer for TF2, as we see a real future in this game and because of the scale of the coverage at this event. Interroang have had some very good performances online, and it seems to be pretty close between the top TF2 teams at the moment and we are sure they have lots of potential and will do very well.
Want to tell me a bit about Crack Clan?
Crack clan has been going for ten years, now we’ve decided to expand into a professional organisation.
What support are you going to offer the team?
We will offer LAN support so they can attend all the major events in Europe.
You say you are a UK based organisation, is there any problems the team being mainly Finnish?
No problems, they all speak perfect English.
Why did you pick TF2?
PC Gamer has really focused on TF2 for this LAN; it is great exposure for us to have a top TF2 team competing here. CGS also announced their support for the game which is going to be very important in ensuring it has a lengthy future.
TF2's future after this LAN?
Next major event will be CGS when it is announced. Unfortunately Multiplay haven’t decided to give the game a fixed prize fund for i35. With so few teams at PC gamer it looks unlikely that i35 will become a major tournament, so hopefully somewhere else will announce a major tournament in the future.
What happened with your PC's? Have you got some now?!
We were told by PC Gamer that we had PC’s last week. A few days ago Multiplay had informed us that they didn’t have any PC’s but they were trying their best to arrange them for us (after we booked the flights.) Fortunately Mutiplay managed to arrange us some PC’s courtesy of Packard Bell.
Thanks for taking the time to talk to me Luke, best of luck with your new team and good luck to the Interrobang guys for this LAN. You can read their official response via the link below.
