The loser bracket final was played out between TCM and Crack! (Interrobang) on badlands. It was a close game going 1-1, then 2-2. TCM scored a third cap with around 3 minutes left on the clock, Interrobang took the middle and were pressuring the spire for all the time left on the map, but TCM held out and took a 3-2 victory.
After TCM secured their place in the Grand Final I asked Byte a few questions on his win and making it to the finals.
How does it feel to have made it to the grand finals?
Good achievement, as TCM we’ve achieved our goal to at least get into the final, 2nd at least. Were seeded 3rd due to online qualifiers, so we are kind of the underdogs. We’re up against a good challenge, and good to see that the whole team was well into the semi finals. We are maintaining our record from i33 and i34 making it to the finals.
Do you believe you performed well, and do you think your performance was strong enough to take first?
As a team I think we haven’t got the strongest possible team, but with our team-play and tactics it makes up for it. Our scout partnership is very good, linking up well and the demo with the scouts. All the offensive types are very strong on cp maps.
Depends what maps, if we play our game on our maps then we got a very good chance. This is 4 Kings after all, they have a lot of skill.
What preparations will you make in the time left before the final?
Play some practice games on the final maps, talk through some tactics.
Well, it’s certainly going to be an interesting final. I have asked both teams what their map picks will be, they all told me they didn’t yet know – they hadn’t decided. I am really looking forward to watching the finals, both teams are going to have to show all they’ve got for a chance at first.
