PCGS: Dignitas WIN!
@ PC Gamer Showdown - CoD4 channel

Dignitas, one of the biggest teams around have won the PCGS tournament, in dominating fashion. Taking the victory on one map, Crossfire, Resaon were just not able to match their might. The final score was a close 13-11.

As it happened

The call of duty 4 finals are about to get underway. With the teams nicely poised on the stage and TosspoT and Deman right in the middle, ready to provide us with some excellent commentary. With the first map, Crossfire, ready to go, the players all ready. This is definitely Reason’s map, and within literally 2 minutes, they are 2 rounds up, with kAMMYS topping at the start. BlackMane is also the team sniper for this game, a position that has yet to be set in the Dignitas team and immediately shows he is going to do well, hitting 2 brilliant shots, 1 through smoke.

Grenades seem to be a big part of the first few rounds, with a few comments of “hahaha geeks” appearing on the screen as nades land in places you would never have expected. Reason have really been practicing hard for this map, and it shows. With TosspoT putting his money on kAMMYZ for a 30 bomb, he is soon well on his way there, easily topping the leader board after 6 rounds, hitting 11 frags.

Soclon now switches to the scope as the score is 6-2 and it makes a difference, as they take the next 2 rounds in blistering form. Raz is also causing havoc, pushing round into melon room on B, but Raijeki is on form and able to push him back. TosspoT starts laying into rzE now with Soclon dominating, as, to quote, Reason hit the “self destruct” button, as rzE “fails, just fails”.

6-6 is the half time score, and this will definitely be in Dignitas’s favour, on a attacking sided map. rzE is definitely not hitting the scopes, missing a few shots, hard maybe, but still in a game of this proportion, he should be. But then again, just after writing this he has a great round taking 3 rounds and follows it up with the opening frag in the 14th round. kAMMY Z is definitely on form though, playing brilliantly in B canteen with his M16 and as if rzE has taken TosspoT’s words to heart and starts taking some excellent opening frags.

But Reason make a shocker of a 5on3 situation, with Raaijeki missing a sitter to let Dignitas keep the defence of the bomb quite easily. Could this be the turning point? Reason are still 1 up at 8-7, and Raijecki starts charging up the B bomb side, and really rips into the Dignitas attack. “Run point shoot, run a bit more” is how TosspoT describes him. With a round dominated by nades, we soon fin dit a 2on2 situation, with both snipers still alive. But rzE and Eplotic hold strong against SoCLoN and BlackMane.

kAMMYZ is struggling to hit his 30 bomb, only having 18 frags by Round 19, still he is leading the scoreboard for Reason. In an important 20th round, Reason are able to fight off a planted bomb, and take the round, as SoCLoN wasn’t able to cover it. This round Dignitas are usually getting the opening 1 or 2 frags, but they are struggling to really make full work of them. But this time they are able to, with BlackMane starting to fire on all cylinders. Lighters and Raijeki though are struggling to get into the game. But Raz is definitely not struggling, dominating the round. Reason are literally hitting the self-destruct button, losing 3 rounds in a row, to go 11-12 down. Match point Dignitas.

But it really doesn’t last long, as Dignitas storm through the map, really dominating. Raz having a stormer charging in. Dignitas are winners of the PCGS CoD4 tournament finishing in comfortable fashion.

If Reason win on Crossfire, the second map will be Strike
