PCGS: 4 Kings win PCGS!
@ PC Gamer Showdown - TF2 channel

What an intense final it was! The two giants of TF2 competing for the biggest prize pot in TF2’s history in front of a spectating crowd. The event was delayed quite a long time because of PC problems on the main stage, Bybben’s sound wasn’t working and one of the TCM guys had to bring his own PC over to the stage.

After all of the technical problems had been resolved, I felt the pressure was building up. The first round begun and both teams begun executing their strategies like they have done so many times before, only this time with Redeye commenting on their air-shots and mistakes.

The first round was truly epic, lasting around 15 minutes each team attacking the last and being pushed back many times. In the end 4 Kings took it in one really strong push after losing middle only moments before.

4 Kings really started heating up after that, and seemed almost unbeatable. TCM pushed them back to the second cap and even the last a few times over the course of the game, but the sheer skill and intelligence of play enabled them to benefit from even the stickiest of situations.

I exchanged a few words with Alex “TeoK” Shalit before the award ceremony:

How does it feel to have won?

Really proud of winning it! This is the first major event for me and for most of the team players!

How do you feel about playing TCM in the final?

Best opponents for us to play, they have to be No.2 in Europe I guess. We have to play our best game to beat them.

What now?

Looking to attend more LANs in the future, more events. Looking forward to it.

How was the pressure for you at an event this size?

Surprisingly for me, I didn’t really feel the pressure. I feel the pressure alone in my house, but with anyone around me it gives me courage.

The prize money was presented by one of the lead editors of PC Gamer magazine and Chet Faliszek from Valve who was here at the L4D stand and had worked on TF2.
