EC XVIII: Week 4
@ ClanBase EuroCup XVIII channel

The Week 4 matches are in, and it looks like it could be a crunch week with some important games likely to take place. We have all the matches listed in the rest of the article plus the up to date tables as well as some text on the games themselves.

The map for this week is the nade heaven Backlot. Being quite a fast paced map, we could see the teams with good AK74u players doing really well. However, if things start to go wrong for you on this map, you can end up driving yourself crazy. With a grand total of 4 out of 24 teams already dropped out of this seasons EC, it is going to be interesting to see how the other teams adjust after some of their wins have been wiped clean.

Group A - Matches

Group A - Table
Clan Details P W L D DIFF POINTS
CrackClan 4 3 0 1 +24 10
Reason-Gaming 3 2 1 0 +8 6
Team-Logitech 3 1 1 1 -6 4
Sypher 3 1 2 0 -7 3
zeroHero 3 0 3 0 -19 0
Serious-Gaming - - - - - -

Pre Match Week: This weeks games are going to be quite interesting, with some big matches taking place. As the group is very close at the moment, this will really be the chance for two of the teams playing to take a bit of a lead over the rest. CrackClan have looked on promising form and should be able to beat Sypher, and Reason vs Logitech is going to be another interesting game too.

Post Games: Both Reason and Sypher have managed to beat their respective teams in Group As week 4 matches. Neither were particular close games, and it does show the strength in this group. This pretty much secures CrackClan and Reason will have to mess up considerably as they have zeroHero in their last game of the group, something they should take comfortably.

Group B - Matches

Group B - Tables
Clan Details P W L D DIFF POINTS
KomaCrew 4 1 1 2 +7 5
We were immortal 3 2 1 0 +7 6
Copenhagen-eSports 4 1 1 2 - 5
Button-Bashers 3 1 1 1 -4 4
UF Gaming 3 1 1 1 -6 4
oXmoze 3 1 2 0 -4 3

Pre Match Week: Again this group is incredibly close at the moment, though there are still 2 games of week 3 to play. However, teams like KomaCrew and Button-Bashers should be able to make their way higher up the group, especially after Button-Bashers took a good 2nd place at SLAP Live this weekend, losing to Fnatic in 2 maps.

Post Games: Copenhagen eSports have beaten oXmoze and have moved to the top of the group for the time being. UF have drawn against We Were Immortal in a very close game, finishing 12-12. This leaves the group in an interesting position.

Group C - Matches

Group C - Tables
Clan Details P W L D DIFF POINTS
nEph 3 3 0 0 +20 9
lastshow 2 1 1 0 -4 3
Speed-Link 1 0 1 0 -2 0
Wizard 2 0 2 0 -14 0
MEGAZORDS - - - - - -
B'Buddies - - - - - -

Pre Match Week: This week sees clear group favourites nEophyte take on Speed-Link. The German power house had looked promising, but the two matches they had played (and won) have been wiped off the board. So this will be a big moment for them, to see if they can get some points back on the board, or if they will slump down to the bottom of the group. They also have a game against Wizzard to play too from Week 3, which could mean at the end of this week they are back in the top spot. The other game should see Lastshow take a quite convincing win over Spanish Wizzards.

Post Games: nEophytes have beaten Speed-Link, and sent them right down to the bottom of the group. It was an incredibly close game, finishing 13-11 on Backlot, but it does mean that Speed-Link have got a hard task of getting out of this group, though they should still be able to do it with 2 games left to play. This also means that nEophytes are now guaranteed to be going through to the playoffs.

Group D - Matches

Group D - Tables
Clan Details P W L D DIFF POINTS
D-Link PGS 3 2 1 0 +8 6
Viciouos and Evil 3 2 1 0 - 6
xthothed 3 1 1 1 +1 4
Team Impact 2 1 1 0 -1 3
eSuba 3 0 2 1 -8 1
Team Infused - - - - - -

Pre Match Week: This match week can give the chance for eSuba to move back up the board after losing their spot when Infused were removed. It will also see xthothed have a chance of getting the #1 spot in the group if they win their game.

Post Games: eSuba have been knocked out of the EC after losing their game against Vicious and Evil, in quite a close game. cBooky odds had it as a 65-35 in favour of eSuba, but they were not able to live up to expectations.
