Here it is at last! The interview we have all been waiting for. BlackMane has really taken his time to do these answers, procastinating for many an hour missing out on lots of mixes, to make sure the answers are tip top. Here is what he had to say.

Why do u have "black" in your nickname, because you're white? (rdl)

Seems pretty obvious to me. everyone says I'm emo. emos sit in dark corners crying. darkest colour i could think of was black! simple when you think about it :D

You've recently been heard saying you wish you didn't have to attend CoD4 lans, why is this? (corin)

This is simply because CoD4 is dead and i really hate the game due to the fact people who are completely clueless can get frags in it because you just have to sprint, jump round corner  and hold mouse1. That is also tied in with the fact that CoD5 is coming out very soon so the entire community is eagerly waiting to see what it is going to be like competitive wise.

You also constantly go on about how much better CS:S is, why do you enjoy playing CS:S so much more than CoD4, and why do you continue to play CoD4, is it purely because you're one of the best players? (corin)

Well in my opinion CS:S is a better game due to the amount of aim and teamwork needed with flashes etc. The only reason i still play cod4 is because i have a good team who i enjoy playing with.

How will you explain not winning vs a mix in EPS???????? (davy)

Well it was a sunny day on mp_crash and i blame twists ginger hair for reflecting the sun into my eyes :(

How do you feel after losing the most retarded 1v2 against infused on crash, jumping off of A roof like a complete spizm as you would call it ? (mark)

Lets be honest the calls just weren't there, 7 seconds left with plant going i had to go for frag but didn't know the other guy was so close :(

What was your reaction when you heard about Cod5 and cod6? (darkula)

Same as it has been for any of the other cod games really, we knew they were going to come so it wasn't really a case of "omg stop making more games so we can just stick to one!" I just hope that one of them will require a decent amount of skill and have codtv implemented into it so the cod series can grow.

Because of the lack of no cod4tv demos, is it harder or easier to develop tactics knowing full well people can only partially guess them from VODS. (darkula)

Well there is two sides to it really, on one people don't really know what you're going to do but on the other you have no idea what the opposition is going to throw at you. However in cod you don't really have to rely on tactics like cs where positioning is vital its more about moving around the map and adapting to what your opponent is doing.

Can you finish the COD4 singleplayer on the most difficult setting without dying? (darkula)

Well for the sake of this interview i did try it....and the answer.....is no. How am i meant to aim in a swaying ship!?!?

How does having possible 2 out of the best 4 snipers in europe cope in your team when only one of you can snipe? (wakko)

Well its not really a problem at the moment as with my strong hate towards the game i just cant be arsed so run around with an ak and let danny snipe, but when he first join we would just swap depending on the map or if one is playing bad we would swap over.

Do you regret leaving Reason back in cod 2, seeing how well you were doing as a team with the chance of 1-2 months more practice being the best team in EU? (wakko)

Good question. Well probably the only reason i left reason was due to the support dignitas and the teams experience which was greater than the team i was in. WSVG was only a few months later and only dignitas could send us which i was very grateful for  I don't regret leaving for one moment but i did really enjoy reason at the time but I couldn't miss out on the opportunity to be in one of the biggest and definitely most friendly team in e-sports.

What's it like being good at a game that ultimately only has the life span of a fish? Do you consider moving into any other game after CoD4 dies? Or into another aspect of gaming such as reporting or maybe a managerial role? GM BlackMane? (Noddy)

Well its actually quite enjoyable as when a new cod title comes out all of the sponsors chuck a load of money at it(hopefully) and the scene is all hyped up and very active. Also there is always a lot of teams that could win an event due to people not being able to master the game as it will only survive for 1-2 years before the next title comes along. Maybe one day a cod title might last but I'm not holding my breath. If cod4 died and cod5 never took off id probably play css, and if i was dog at it after playing for a decent amount of time i would just wait for cod6.

I'm the best at COD4, would you like some lessons? Also you don't rage well enough, this I can also teach you about if you like? (Starkey)

What do you prefer in competitive gaming? a few maps that are always played or a pool of 10+ so that tournaments/lan have other maps in the brackets every now and then? (satn1ss)

Without a doubt a solid map pool of around 5-6 as teams just don't have enough time to practice more maps and then results will end up being random because one team has really trained on that map and the other team has only played it a couple of times.

Any of the cod community believe that CoD5 will be a fail for many reasons, mainly because it is made by Treyarch. If it does fail are you going to move with the majority of the community and go back to the source of CoD and play the original in the series. Or will there be a revival of CoD2? (smithiE)

Well no as said previously if cod5 dies then i will go play css and if i'm not any good ill wait for cod6. I don't think anyone in the community will go back to actively playing cod or cod2 because they are just old.

If you could take one feature of CSS and transplant it to CoD4 and visa versa what would you add. Also if you could remove one thing from each game what would it be?  (Jay)

If i could add one thing to cod4 it would have to be the money system, it might stop people running around everywhere holding mouse1 knowing that if they die they don't have a gun next round. Can't think of anything to add/remove from css really. From cod i would definitely remove sprint because it just encourages holding mouse1 down for half the round.

If you could play for any other team in EU apart from Dignitas, who would it be? (Tauren)

Would have to be infused with the aNYEhilator :) mostly because i get on well with all of them and they are a good laugh as we mix all the time.

Do you and SoCLoN ever fight over the scope, or is it just a mutual agreement for certain maps? (Tauren)

Ye its just a mutual agreement on certain maps most of the time, although sometimes i rage and just wont let it go.

What team, or Dignitas lineup, has been the most fun to play with? (Tauren)

Definitely the one at the moment because everyone is english and people get each others humour etc. Although i did really have fun at WSVG when mick, ben and trainee were in the team.

What is your best gaming memory? (Tauren)

Probably winning i33 as it was such a tense final, after losing the first map in overtime, then being 10-2 down at the half to come back and win that was immense and such a rush.

Do you think the current Dignitas lineup has longetivity to last past i35 and onto cod5 or whatever is next? (Tauren)

Well i definitely hope so as the team we have now is probably the best in all aspects be it skill or communication. Just hoping that jason being in uni will not mess us up too bad as our practice schedule isn't that strict at the moment.

And most importantly - Did you join Dignitas from Reason Gaming in cod2 (who were about the same level at the time) because of the upcoming WSVG LAN and the free trip to America? Or was there something deeper, like internal conflicts? (Tauren)

There was definitely no internal conflicts, it was just the opportunity to join an organisation that had so much support and yes the WSVG was a big decider.

Would you consider playing a 1vs1 game instead of a team orientated one? if yes why, if no why not? (Tauren)

Yes and no really, playing a 1v1 game i would be able to practice when i want and not depend on the rest of my team coming online and it would stop a lot of quarrels as you would only have yourself to blame if you lost. But at the same time i really enjoy playing team games because of the atmosphere it builds in big games and the team spirit, it would be pretty dull going to lan if you didn't know anyone.

Do you consider the CoD scene to be unstable due to the nature of CoD development and the release schedules? How do you feel about having to essentially learn a new game in relatively short spaces of time? (ViniH)

Well ye this naturally occurs, team changes are bound to happen when a new game comes out because some people wont like it/ aren't good at it. I don't mind having to learn a new game as i just see it as a challenge and people who are good don't just become awful at the next game as we proved at i32 where we won the day it came out.

Have you found the disagreements over standardiseation of rulesets in COD4 detrimental to its growth as a competitive medium? (chilli)

I don't think that is the problem with cod4, i believe it is the lack of codtv and the fact that the game changes every couple of years. The rulesets are usually figured out within a couple of months and then everyone can start really practicing.

Do you prefer COD4 as it was meant to be played with perks on or a psuedoupdatedmodernday version of cod2 with perks off. (chilli)

Well to be honest the perks needed to be disabled or else it would be unbelievable lame with some of the perks such as claymores. cod4 would never have got those summer lans without a decent ruleset that was competitive.

Why do you think the majority of the FPS gaming scene (who doesn't play COD) says that CoD is a less skilled base game than Counter-Strike? I have no idea why people say it, as I don't know anything about CoD - but it would be interesting to hear what you have to say on this subject. (warclown)

Well as soon as you play a cod game in 5v5 you understand where this comes from, the game is not about aim so much but more about movement. People generally define skill as aim and killing multiple people at once, but in cod this doesn't happen so much as you have to move around the map and outsmart people. However i do agree CS requires more skill to be good than cod does.
