MaxLAN: All about Regnam
@ MaxLAN 2008 channel

In what has been a very chaotic day so far, we spoke to Loic “RegnaM” Perron about this event.

Salut Loic, ca va bien?
Yep, I, Corin, am fine, and you? Our travel was very long, our shuttle (bus) from Paris took about eight hours to get here (it was supposed to be four!), luckily we got enough sleep, as tournaments were supposed to start at 1pm, so we slept all the morning. As it happens, they haven’t started yet.

The hotel is fine, it’s a good place to sleep, the event looks good, the admins look competent, so yeah, all is good.
This is your first real event playing as Verygames, it must feel good having an organisation that will actually keep promises regarding funds and payments – has it had an effect on team moral?
Verygames are very serious with their work, they support us very well, we are a very happy team! With this support I guess we’ll be attending i36, maybe Slap, we won’t attend Dreamhack because it’s too far, and with too little prize money but you’ll also see us at events like Lan79 and TeX.dk.
This is also your first event with Rpk, who recently joined you from Epsilon (now Crack), who’s previous team have stated he joined purely for your money – is this the case? How is he fitting in with your players?
Rpk is an impressive player, but also a very good team-mate in real life. He joined us because he felt Epsilon were not stable enough for the rest of the season. As a player in-game he makes a strong impact in the team as he is always at the top of his level, making impossible things happen, and clutching.

You’re heavily tipped as favourites to win this event, particularly after your victory over xoxo two days ago in the Eurokrieg final, how confident are you of a first place finish?
This is our first LAN event, with very good teams here, like RedLine, Crack, and the top two teams from Germany. We are pretty confident because our bootcamp training was very successful, we took the first prize in the Icy-Box invite cup, as well as Eurokrieg, as this tournament is best of one map, anything can happen, we know we are better in best of three format.
Finally Loic, who do you see as being your biggest threat, what team is most likely to beat you in the elimination stage?
We will face H2k in the quarter final, it should be an easy match if we manage to play our real level, then we should play Team Alternate in the semis, we beat them last week during the Icy-Box, but we know that they were not playing at their 100%, so it should be a tight match. Then if we manage to win, we should face mTw, I think they are our best opponents here, since they beat xoxo at SLAP.
