After the first big upset of i35, Reason are out of the tournament. I probed the mind of a Welsh CoD4 player to see just what happened.

Reason have just been knocked out of the i35 CoD4 tournament after losing to Sypher, a team they really were expected to win. I had a chance to sit in with the team stand in, Brokn.

Well Brokn, what happened? You've just lost to Sypher something no one saw coming.

I think after the team EG loss, we were all a bit sceptical about how we would play the next match, our team work and comms and such. The comms in the sypher match weren't as good as they should have been and the team work was off, we lost stupid rounds and shouldn't be losing to a team of Sypher's callibre to be honest.

Was this game a matter of Sypher being good or Reason losing the game?

They played well, they played a good game not going to take that away from them. I definitely think we should have won that game, things didn't go right for us, they had some good rounds, skill wise and some lucky rounds, and we just threw things away and it shouldn't have happened.

What about the EG game, what happened there?

You've got pro teams, which include us, Infused, Dignitas, and then you have got EG, LLL, that are on a completely different level. EG have a completely different game. Their stop nades stopped us playing our own game, which made us uncomfortable, and thus gave them the win.

Can anyone stop EG?

I think Dignitas will give them a good go but I think EG are going to take this tournament hands down.

You were obviously expecting at least a 3rd place here. How disappointed are you with this result?

We were expecting top 3, and we wouldn't have been expecting anything less. We just hit a road block after the EG game, and it just knocked our confidence.

Will there be any reprecussions from this game? Lineup changes?

I think 2 split up after a game that you have foolishly lost is a bit immature, most mature teams will take the loss and improve on it, and we'll improve next time by practicing more, because RaigeKi, whose net was broken, so i had to fill in. So we haven't had much training at all, only a few hours on thursday before EPS, so its not been a proper training schedule.

Will we see you at either CC5 or GameLand (both?)

I think we might just choose one over both of them, but we will just have to see with the lineup and what people want to do.

Right lets move onto CoD5, what do you thnk?

*shakes head*, cod5 is going to be a good singleplayer game, but multiplay is not going to be competitive at all, they can try and make it competitive but it won't lift off as cod4 has.

Is CoD5 going to split the community?

Yeah it is, its like cod1 and cod2 again. Some of the community are going to stay at cod4, and I don't really know any other top teams planning to move to cod5, but it will definitely split in half, and it will cause a massive upset for the cod series.

Which half of the community will Reason be?

Well we have all played it and we are not pleased with the multiplayer aspect of the game. We will all attempt to have a go at the game, once its more establish. but i can't really see us going to cod5, but if we do it will be really reluctantly.

How are you finding i35, compared to other i-series?

It doesn't feel like an i-series. The exhibition is so small, i wouldn't even think of it as an i-series. its a lot smaller than the other i-series. Cod4 made i33 and i34 what they were. But the prize money dropped to 6k, this time, which hit the community the biggest. Thats why people chose maxlan over this, which makes it not feel like an i-series at all. But im not going to take anything away from the admins, its well organised this time.

Are you going to be at i36 then?

Not with this lineup. rZE has a ski instructor course starting this january, so im not sure how that will affect the lineup.

Will there be a Reason CoD team next year?

Reason will definitely be around next year in one form or another, but not necessarily, this lineup.
