The i35 Counter-Strike: Source tournament culminates tonight at 8:30 PM GMT when Birmingham Salvo face off against Reason Gaming.
Birmingham Salvo defeated Reason in the upper bracket final 16-9, sending Reason into the lower bracket final. There they defeated London Mint by a huge margin. Coming from the lower bracket Reason need 2 maps to take the title where Salvo need just the one.
Earlier on today Salvo’s Sam “RattlesnK” Gawn said he couldn’t see anyone beating them over two maps, and he has a reason to be confident. The last time Salvo attended an event and didn’t win was IG5 in Febuary. We spoke to Elliot “Wez” Welsh before the game.
“I’m really confident going into the game, we’ve been playing brilliantly so far and we play even better on the stage. I have a lot of respect for Reason but I’m sure we can triumph them again.”
Reason on the other hand must be feeling afraid, they’ve lost the last two finals on stage against Salvo and two maps are a mountain to climb against one of the best teams in the world. We spoke to Marek “.PhP” Kadek on his feelings before the match.
“Salvo are a top team, there’s no doubt about that. We meet them at every UK LAN and we still struggle to find a recipe on how to beat them. It drives me crazy. We’re going to stick to our game and see what happens. We’re happy we beat Mint on train, we’ve worked hard on that map.”
There will also be a live cast found
