Dignitas win the CoD4 i35 tournament. I recap on how the match went, as well as spending a few momoents with Wombat after the game.

Dignitas have won the Call of Duty 4 i35 Tournament in extremely convincing fashion. They were told they had to play Vacant, a map that they hated and were expecting to get rolled on. But they have showed that they are the best individuals in Europe, if not the world, as they were able to dominate EG in every single aspect of the game. Dignitas won the game 13-1 and walk away with a healthy sum of money. You can see how it happened below. I also managed to have a little word with Wombat after the match had finished.

The Match - mp_vacant

The game is ready to start, or should I say was. With BlackManes computer dieing, TosspoT took the opportunity to start interviewing some of the players, firstly Wombat and then Mark. Mark gives us a great first line that describes just how he feels about Vacant.

I'm depressesd, played Vacant twice in 2 months!

This shows just how much they hate Vacant. Personally I think it may suit the Dignitas players as they are a very rushing team, especially Lookzor and Raz. This is something that they are going to be able to utilise on this map, we think at least. It will also be very important for the snipers. Soclon is also on form at i35, and so should be able to really dominate too.

The game is about to start, and we are ready to go. The first frag goes Soclons way after EG chose to attack first after winning the knife round. Is this how its going to carry on or will juvenile be able to hold his own later on? The rest of the players start to show their strengths and take the first round, as Morg pipes up in true Morg fashion.

Raz and lookzor really start to dominate, starting to rush his way around the map, wall banging to the max. The first 3 rounds go Dignitas's way. Soclon starts to shine too as the crowd awwwwwwws in approval after a superb jump shot, to finish it off with a superb Deagle on Wise Guy - Mark: "Not so wise running against Soclon with a Deagle!"

Cook nades also start to dominate EG, as only Wise guy is the person taking frag lead. EG are just not able to offer anything, as EG drop to another 4on1 situation. Dignitas in great fashion, take out the knives and make Junvenile look like a public veteran. The binds come flying out as BlackMane pipes out that he now actually likes this map! 6-0 to Dignitas, as Toss has just said, a school boy error by EG choosing this map when they have nothing to offer. they are really just not able to stop the rushing 74u players, the sniper and the grenades.

But Dignitas continue to dominate, taking all the rounds no matter how the opening exchanges go, they are able to dominate. The depressed Mark is definitely no longer depressed, as he starts to open up the throttle.

But EG slam on the breaks, and finally hit their opening round! However, they have 7 to catch up on! Will they be able to make them up? Raz says no! He hits a great 5 man, though one of them is his own team admittedly. 10 rounds dead, and 9 of them go to Dignitas make that 11 as the O'Connor brothers dominate in a 2on1. EG are just getting rolled! Deman isn't complaining though as the F1 nears termination.

End of half, 11-1 to Dignitas.

The second half starts, and well EG have a hell of a lot to do. Rob Wizz almost manages to get the opening round but he runs out of time to defuse. 11 match points, but i think they will only need 1. They easily dominate Wise_Guy and take the game, the set, and the match!

What were EG doing picking Vacant. What had Dignitas been drinking and eating? WoW! That was amazing for them, completely dominating in every aspect. The crowd quickly vanishes as they all head over to the F1. And for those who haven't seen it, Hamilton won! YES!!!!!

I went and had a quick word with Wombat after the game to see what went wrong for them.

Firstly Wombat, comiserations on the loss, but what went wrong? Vacant just didn't work for you.

I don't know about the other guys, but i was just getting naded a lot more than usual and every time I peaked anywhere near A i just got shot by the sniper. That's what you get if you play against the best sniper in Europe though I suppose.

Was this a result of you losing the game or Dignitas winning the game?

A little bit of both, under performing thinking that it was going to be easier than it really was. They were obviously expecting to lose so they were able to play a bit more freely, and do what ever they wanted which resulted in a little bit of randomness in the game.

How disappointed are you with the overall result? 13-1 is pretty embarassing thats for sure, but what about the overall result?

We did come here expecting to win, I think maybe if we had gotten it to crossfire, we could have won it. It is disappointing coming in 2nd again. We knew coming into that it would be us vs dignitas and they are the biggest name in europe, at least it is 2nd best for us, at least in our eyes. Losing 13-1 is still embarrasing but at least I feel better than losing 13-11 in the 2nd map which basically happened to us last time.

Finally will we be seeing you at i36 trying to get elusive 1st place?

That pretty much just depends on the prize money, what it is exactly and if we can get our starting 5 here or not.
