Reactions to CGS Death #1
@ Spotlights channel

This is the first part of possibly many on the instant reactions to the announcement that the CGS would be closing it’s doors.

David “olander” Persson, Berlin Allianz.
If this is true I think that a big part of eSports just died. I also know for a fact that something like this will never be tried again, which is also sad. Anyhow, I’m happy for my two seasons and I'm happy that I got to spend it with the people I spent it with.

Now the question is, will I even keep on playing or will I just say fuck it?
Kat Hunter, San Francisco OPTX
I think right now we are all in shock. We expected changes next year, but this was never something we had considered. Many of us joined this company with a singular vision to bring eSports to the next level, and seeing this project end prematurely is heartbreaking on many levels.
ReDeYe, Former CGS TV Commentator
From a personal point of view I’m disappointed, naturally but I think it was inevitable and the only decision the investors could make right now. It had a good go over the two years I was involved but it didn’t hit the market it should have been aimed at from the start and ultimately they paid the price. Despite that, I have some great memories of my time being involved and I don’t regret a single day I worked on the shows, it was a privilege.

I made a lot of friends through my time working with CGS and it is them I think about at this time, those who put their heart and soul in to the organisation and who now find themselves not only without a job but more importantly of pocket with children to feed.
Eafra, Chicago Chimera
Being a part of the CGS was the greatest event of my life. In just two months I built a family. With this announcement, I feel the same way you would feel if someone took you from your family. This is a sad day for us all, but more importantly for the eSports community.
GRT, San Francisco OPTX
This is a huge shock to the CGS community and i feel for all the players who are now in trouble because of what happened. It’s a shame it ended this way but I had a lot of fun participating in CGS and now look forward to other things. A 1.6 return is most likely in the books.
Ritch, London Mint
I love video games, computers, sex, drugs, cheese, beer, violence and life
