KomaCrew TF2 team is formed by experienced players from various teams. The team captain will be mvp, a former Übersexuals player and the captain of the German national team, which competed in the ESL and ETF2L nations cups earlier this year. Perhaps the most interesting news is the return of the former 4Kings TF2 captain, Riemu.
KomaCrew's TF2 roster also lists phL from TLR, eviLhuNteR, Deathkn1ght, Bas1c and Bilze from n2o and lifi and Puschen from plan-B. Unfortunately this means that both n2o and plan-B TF2 teams have folded as many of their players have left to join this new team.
It remains to be seen where KomaCrew will be placed for the upcoming season 4 of the ETF2L. n2o had claimed a position in div1 after finishing second in div2B, but ETF2L has not yet confirmed if KC is allowed to take their place. The ESL Major Series also has two open spots after plan-B and n2o have disbanded, but it would seem unlikely that KC is allowed to take either of these places without going through the qualifiers.
I had a small chat with Riemu about his comeback and the new KomaCrew team.
You're listed in the new KomaCrew TF2 line-up. Does this mean you're back in the TF2 scene again?
Well, kinda. I'm currently on a learning schedule for my "job exams" on Tuesday, 2nd December so my time for TF2 is limited at this time. However, I'm planning on a full return to TF2 after that.
How did this team end up joining KomaCrew?
To be perfectly honest, I have not the slightest clue. eviLhuNteR approached me approximately a week ago asking whether or not I'm still looking to get back into TF2 and if I could imagine joining n2o (soon to be KomaCrew). I had a chat with my old dickloving buddy mvp., one thing led to another and here we are. ;)
This is a completely new team even though all the players are quite experienced. Do you think you will be able to compete against the top teams right from the start?
I wouldn't really describe it as a completely new team. Most of the players know each other from Team Germany or former n2o and we have all played with each other on several occasions before. Competing with the best will probably take it's time, but we can at least offer them a good fight already. After all, half of our players have just returned from a TF2 break and we all have some catching up to do. Time will tell whether or not this team can achieve much, but I'm quite confident.
Nine players is a big line-up. Do you think you can maintain solid teamplay with such a wide roster?
I certainly hope so. At least we won't be as susceptible to player drops and lack of motivation as 6 or 7 player teams ;)
And the last question. Will you also be back to help us out with Cadred's coverage? :)
I have a lot on my plate the coming weeks so I'm afraid I have to abnegate it, for now at least. Let's see what the future holds...
