TCM Merge with Sypher
@ Scene news channel

British organisation TCM have announced that they will merge with Team Sypher.CoD4 to form the new TCM squad.

Both teams had a good run at the Multiplay i35 event with Sypher placing 4th and TCM placing 7th/8th after losing 22-19 to Sypher. After the event it became evident that it was not going to work out anymore for TCM with jakmo and david apparently wanting to go back to COD2 and with Benzo going inactive due uni obligations.

Sypher had a similar story with their team already being inactive for a while which resulted in Sauceee quitting games in general. Saltman also stopped playing for a while moving to Source, however he has decided to come back temporarily for now as the team may be attending CC5 next weekend.

With both teams being inactive, phantasy started talking to vasquez and from there on the team started playing together and have today announced they will be fully merging to play under the TCM tag from now on.

This leaves the lineup as follows:

Carl ‘vasquez’ Finch
Lee ‘Pukkery’ Martin
Mark ‘Phantasy’ Pinney
Max ‘Maxstar’ Adamson
Dan ‘Saltman’ Salt

Statement from Vasquez:

After i35 and COD5 drama, the TCM lineup was only semi active for the EPS games as both Ben and David have other commitments, and Jack wanted to take a break from playing COD4. This left only me to play competitively.

Simultaneously, our friends over at Sypher were also having lineup issues with Kaj moving back to CSS and Sauce no longer having an interest in the game. This left Max, Lee and Mark as an active 3 man lineup searching for replacements.

After countless games played, we were happy to close the gap and compete together as a unit ready for EPS Season 2 and any LAN’s COD4 has to bring and we remain positive about the future especially with the UKESA launch.

This leaves the introductions; firstly a 47 player Lee ‘Pukkery’ Martin, who can patiently hold a site and perform amazing clutches. One of the finest SMG players Mark ‘Phantasy’ Pinney, who plays at the top and is a chilled multi-killing machine. One of the smartest players I have ever played with Max ‘Maxstar’Adamson, who has the unnatural ability to mind-hack. Dan ‘Saltman’ Salt will be playing for the time being and we will search for a more permanent 5th after LAN until Adam catches up with his studies.

Update

In some confusion from the TCM management, Adam is not going to be the backup for the team, he never was and never will. With rumours going around that he may be joining Infused instead, I decided to find out exactly what he had planned.

Adam: I decided to depart from tcm to chillout for a while, i basically actually wanted some spare time instead of mixing up work and playing cod4.

The interesting point is going to be whether TCM are allowed to carry on in the EPS UK as half of their lineup has played under a different name, obviously Sypher. According to the rules they will not be, but this will mean that another 2 teams will drop out.

Though TCM are not in a position at the moment to get through to the next round of the EPS, nor are Sypher, they will have to look ahead to the next season, as this will mean they have to go through the qualifying process, namely EAS. The admins have yet to come up with a final decision, but I can expect them to stand close to the rules and not let this new team play.
