The popular LAN in Finland, The Assembly, have announced their prize fund for this years event. With over €10,000 up for grabs, it is going to be a big competition, however, this is over a lot of different games unfortunately.
CounterStrike: Source and Call of Duty 4 both have prize pots of €1,600 each, which is fairly small. It is good to see however that another tournament has announced a Call of Duty 4 rather than Call of Duty 5 tournament. The prizes will be distributed as follows:
| CounterStrike: Source | Call of Duty 4 |
|---|---|
| €1,000 | €1,000 |
| €400 | €400 |
| €200 | €200 |
As you can see there really isn't that much money on offer. However, for local teams it could be quite interesting. For the foreign teams, the cost of getting there will most likely out weigh those of actually winning, but we never know.
It is also a massive drop from last year's prize purse where there was no CoD4, but Source had just under double what it does now, which is a shame.
The other games that will have prize purses can all be found here
