i36: CoD4 Grand Final Preview
@ i36 CoD4 channel

The i36 Rustlers CoD4 tournament is coming to a close, with the Grand Final just around the corner. Here we have a full preview of the game.

The Grand Final which will be taking place on the stage at 4pm will see dignitas taking on xxx. dignitas will definitely go in as the favourites, with only one map needed. However, being on the stage anything could happen. In the rest of the article I have a look at the individual teams taking part in the Grand Final.

Overview

Team Dignitas YoYoTech Dragons
Mark myzz
Blackmane DEKO

LoOkZoR hysobe
SoCLoN Froster

Crash Crossfire

Team Dignitas

dignitas have looked nothing other than amazing so far this tournament. They have said it themselves, they are playing well, and if they are playing well what can you do? They are the team at the moment and no one has even got close to them. In the group stage and the whole of the playoff tree, no one could take more than 8 rounds off dignitas. We have even seen Silenced USPs and Shotguns being brought out, even in the game against Team CoolerMaster. Their opponent, YoYoTech looked decidingly average though in the UpperBracket final. dignitas were by far the better team in that game, and they look like they're going to be the better team in this game.

The pressure of the stage will not affect them either, as they have been on this i36 stage several times. The pressure of a crowd won't affect them at all, and you can certainly expect to see them all, piped up with Odee watching closely, ready to win, and win in style.

I had spoken to BlackMane much earlier, and the audio interview with him will be up shortly. A written version of it will come along shortly as well.

YoYoTech Dragons

YoYoTech go into the finals with a huge amount of confidence and adrenalin. No one expected them to be anywhere near the stage at this time in an i36 tournament. But the fact is they are, they have knocked out 2 teams seeded above them, and they are in the final. They did get beaten quite badly by dignitas in the UpperBracket final, but they will still have a lot of confidence after their exhilerating overtime win against TCM in the consolodation final.

I went and spoke to myzz to find out his views on the matter.

Welcome myzz; ReDeYe has just described you as being in Cloud 9 after that win. Is that a fair assumption?

Yeah we are, definitely. We came to the tournament really just hoping for rank 6, as that where we were seeded. We didn't really expect to be able to bring down one of the top seeds, we kind of hoped we would knock down one of them. My personal aim before the tournament was to knock out SpeedLink because they were quite arrogant and stuff, so that was my personal aim, but to beat 3 of them is crazy, I mean I just can't believe it. The last half against Reason, I was just in cloud 9, same as I am now.

You have now got to play dignitas, who, putting it lightly, thrashed you in the UpperBracket Final. Do you think you could put a better performance out against them on the stage?

Yeah we were pretty disappointed against them on Crash. We just couldn't brake down their defense, but we played them on Crossfire before and we know they're quite weak on it, so if we get that map, maybe put a bit of pressure on, and then we'll see what happens on Crash.

What about the affect of the stage? Do you think the pressure of the stage, the audience, the commentators will affect your game at all? Especially as you are all relatively new to these events.

Um, I think it might a little bit. Usually just the first few rounds where you might notice it, but then when you get into the game, you are just too concentrated. You don't really think about whose watching or whose casting. I think we should be ok. But yeah I mean, DEKO is really laid back and so are jamie and hysobe. So that should be fine.

Predicted Scores:

I think we will win Crossfire 13-9. And then Crash, I think we can give them a good game, hopefully keep it tight, but we will see what happens.

We wish both teams the bes tof luck. Stay tuned to Cadred.org for full details of the game as and when it happens.
