The final of the CoD4 tournament has been played. dignitas are the winners but not without some controvosy.

This was by far one of the best games to watch as a spectator that the i-series has had. The first half started and it was nothing other than sheer comedy, with dignitas running around with the worse guns they could choose. They ended up losing the map after double overtime, but in all honesty, they gave the map away.

The 2nd map went very seriously, and YYT just looked brilliant. They were able to hold dignitas neck and neck all the way and slightly edged a head. They got all the way to 11-8 before dignitas started to claw it back. raz was by far the person who won the game for them, with 2 excellent rounds. Finally it was left up to mark to clutch the game and win the match. In usual mark fashion he did just that and dignitas took the victory.

Wow, what a final. We weren't expecting that. We were all expecting you to get well and utterally destroyed. Did you expect dignitas to do what they did, and come out with M40s and UZIs?

Yeah, they told us they were going to do it, but we didn't think they would be serious. We thought it was a pretty sad thing to do, and it sort of disrespected the whole CoD scene. We knew Strike was good for us though, and they actually tried so it made it a good final.

Do you think it affected your game, when dignitas were running around with uzi's and MP44s?

To be honest it got to the stage when we didn't care, because they weren't caring. It was like, if we try, and then we lose, it is going to be very embarrassing. So lets just play along.

But when you went into Strike, but for one stage it looked like you were going to win it.

Yeah, I think it was like 11-8 or something, we thought we would have it. They just couldn't handle us, they are the best team though, and that is why they have come back and won, and made it look easy.

No one has taken dignitas any where near that level of closeness, but on Strike, do you think it was you playing well or dignitas playing badly?

A mixture, I mean in the first few rounds they completely under estimated us, but from then they were trying. I don't care what anyone says, we took the lead and they were shell shocked for a while. But they brought it back right at the end.

What was it that sparked off all the flame? It went from being friendly banter in the first half to out right flame in the second.

I can't actually remember now. He did something that really annoyed me. I can't honestly remember. I quite like Blackmane, I think he is a bit misunderstood, but yeah, I mean, I just said to him at the end why are you such a ..........., and that is why he didn't want to shake my hand. But we're all cool now.

Obviously you lost it, and you'll be disappointed, but you came here expecting 6th and you narrowly missed out on first.

Yeah that was kind of not on the cards really, we weren't expecting that at all. We will be disappointed as we were in a position where we could have won it. But we give them a close run for their money. But getting that close is an amazing effort by us thats for sure.

As you can see YoYoTech got very very close. But dignitas won it, so we have to see the reaction from dignitas.

Firstly, well done on winning, but what the hell were you doing in the first map?

I don't know. We thought we were just going to destroy them so we just messed about really, didn't really concentrate, just messed about with whatever guns we wanted.

Were you planning on losing that first map so it would go to a 2nd map or was that not on the cards?

We didn't really care if it went to a 2nd map or not. We were just doing what ever. We thought we would just roll over it in the 2nd map.

Well obviously you didn't roll over it. Was there a point in that 2nd map when you though, oh shit, we're going to lose it.

Yeah pretty much. At the end of the first half we thought this isn't right. We should be beating them by now.

Was this you playing badly or the YoYoTech players playing well?

We were playing shocking, really bad. I don't know.

In the first half we saw banter between the two teams. But what was it in the second half that changed that banter into direct flame?

It just got personal. I mean you can't say something like that and not expect us to retaliate.

Odee: The casters themselves, they added a little bit of fuel to the fire. I am not impressed with that.

This will go down in Call of Duty history. But do you think that players at the top of the scene like yourselves have the sense of duty to take games like this seriously. It is a serious competition and messing around like that in the final...

I don't know, we just wanted to have some fun, we haven't had fun the whole event, its been really boring. We were just like whatever, lets have some fun.

Odee: I think again, Deman.... suggested to them they should make it a bit more fun.

Can we see you doing that ever again if you are in the same situation?

No, we will never do that again, it was just too close.

This has been one of the best games entertainment wise. dignitas have come away as winners, but they will come away knowing that they were 2 rounds away from one of the biggest embrassements the i-series has ever had. YoYoTech however will walk away with their heads high knowing that they have proved the rest of Europe they are a top team.
