We sit down with Crack Clan after they secure their spot in the finals.

So Beta, Crack have seemingly gone super keen this weekend, what brought on the turnaround since i36?

Beta: I’m not going to go too much into it but we stopped thinking so much and started fragging, I think at I-series we came up against LLL on nuke starting T side and that kind of crushed motivation but we’ve come back from it since.

You’re obviously happy with the results so far, can you make it one more and win the entire tournament?

Beta: I think Verygames are on the back foot since we beat them in the groups, they’ll be worrying more about the game than we are, that should put us in good stead for the final. I think the environment is more beneficial for us then them because we don’t rely on sound as much.

Lewis, what do you think of the tournament format and arena?

Hughsy: The arena gives off such a good feeling, because of all the spectators and sound, the PC’s are great my biggest complaint is the leg room, but when that’s the biggest to complain about its obviously a great event. The format is fine for a four team tournament.

How much did you read into yesterday’s results considering all teams went through to the bracket, was there any temptation to hide strategies and/or throw games?

Hughsy: All the games yesterday were still considered as officials and I think all the teams were secretly trying to win whether or not they used their real tactics or not. I do not think anyone threw a game because the outcome of today would have been different

You won the group, some may argue facing dignitas isn’t a fair reward for doing so, were you happy with the draw?

Hughsy: All three teams would have been a hard opponent, but after our good first day we were happy to play anyone. Dignitas were considered a mix team so we knew we would have an advantage against them, nonetheless we knew they could beat us if we slipped up.

So in the final you’ll face the only other “team” at the event, on paper you seem unlikely to win but does momentum play a bigger role?

Hughsy: We haven’t lost a game this tournament so confidence is high and our momentum will carry us through the final.  I believe we’ll win in the final.

How do you think the two stand-ins, HenryG and Callisto have performed in their teams?

Hughsy: Henry was a big standout for me, he was always playing really well for dignitas and as for Jack he was consistent as ever.

Some may say Dignitas are taking this event too lightly, do you think this is a result of their mix team status or a deeper underlying lack of motivation?

Hughsy: If they played with Sam I feel they would have done a lot better, but it still doesn’t undermine the fact they are five good players and could have and should have done better. It was obvious they were missing RattlesnK.
