The ESL's Fourth EMS season is underway and currently at it's second qualifying round

If the ESL's EPS is the domestic league in each country, the EMS is the champions league. The top teams from various EPSs and international qualifying events are entered into the competition at various stages and they compete for the top prize of €3,000.

If you take the British teams for example (sorry to put emphasis on the British scene but its the one I'm most familiar with). 4 Kings were the champions of the first EPS season , and as such they have been given automatic qualification for the group stage. Fragmasters.Toxic finished second in EPS and only have to go through the second qualifying round, while Veritas Gaming and Vitriolic (now noREPLY) finished 3rd and fourth and are required to come through the both qualification rounds. However, some countries have their own qualification tournament, and if countries are not covered by either of these eventualities or the roster is composed of a mixture of nationalities they are eligable to compete in the european qualifier.
